Official Decisions Thread

Oh well. It was worth a shot. I feel sort of bad because my parents originally didn't want me to even apply, so I had to argue with them about it. After they finally let me apply I was sort of hoping that I could prove that applying was worth doing with an acceptance or at least a waitlist. But it wasn't meant to be.

My stats are pretty poor comparative to those who got accepted. My GPA is somewhat abysmal. I'm not heartbroken because I got into another highly ranked university. My parents are really proud of me because of that, so everything turned out very well after all.

Congrats to those who were accepted (you are so, so, so fortunate). Best wishes and enjoy being in Massachusetts this fall! :)

finaid, sorry. It said scholarship aid on the letter they sent me, haha. Same difference!

It's such a relief to have a uni to go to =)
congrats everyone!

Thanks, Peals. You sound like a really great son/daughter - parents should be proud. Congrats on your acceptance!

rovee - BC was my top choice for a while too, but got bumped down by amherst and even further down my wellesley. funny what happens with time. i got into boston, but am still waiting for my finaid package

:)

Enjoy Wellesley!

Nope, we're not THE Twins in the ED letter; we applied RD. What did it say about THE twins? just wondering now...
And nope, we're not identical either. :)

In 5 hours, I will probably know whether or not I'm going to Wellesley in the fall. It all hinges on the Harvard decision I'm still waiting for.

causaseen - Really? That's cool. The reason why BC was bumped down on my list was mostly because of the puny financial aid package I received from them. I think that it is a great school and would have loved to attend, but I don't think it is worth the 34,000+ my family and I would have had to pay. I hope that you receive a good financial aid package because BC is definitely a school that you should keep in consideration.

Anyway, other than Wellesley, I'm not very familiar with LAC's, but Amherst must have tickled your fancy, eh? Make sure you keep us posted on which school you decide to attend!

elizabeth22 - so what happened? H or W? H or W?

rovee - no one here under the adge of 40 says "tickled your fancy" ;)....

rovee - yeah bc's a great school. its weird though bc i still havent recieved my financial package from them. i thin i'll call them today about it. but wellesley is definitely my fave and unless something drastic happens in the last month i'll be going to wellesley. it's a tough choice though. i hear you on the money part though. syracuse is giving me alot of money to go and their honors program. everything gets so complicated when money's involved!

Mea- Wellesley it is!

mea - LOL! Sorry about that! I was flipping through channels when I was posting and I heard it off of some show. :-)

is it weird if I still haven't received my decision?

I got in ED, it sounds like alot of people that got in RD got great financial packages, and ED didnt for the most part. Did anyone else get a large package. And for those that did, were there any particular circumstances that helped you?

i got rejected by wellesley, brown and columbia. waitlisted by bryn mawr. got accepted by UPENN!..going there. happy but was obviously disappointed about my rejections. still dont know what went wrong.

Don't worry- the whole admissions thing is just crazy. Congratulations on Penn! It's a really wonderful school, and I'm sure you'll be happy there :).

WOW I GOT IN...it's amazing because I only got Possible for Early Eval. Does anyone know if Wellesley gives Merit based scholarships? because I didn't apply for financial aid, but like Mt. Holyoke is giving me 10k a year and I was wondering if Wellesley does anything like that. Congrats to everyone!

Congratulations calico!

Unfortunately, Wellesley doesn't give merit-based scholarships. Maybe you could still try if you think you'll qualify.

hey guys, i was deferred and i got in regular decision. I'm still deciding between Wellesley and Bryn Mawr now, but I'm definitely going to the open campus. as of right now, wellesley is my first choice.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Congrats MargauxR! I hope to see you at the Open Campus.

For my previous post, I meant to write "Maybe you could still try [for financial aid]..." I just wanted to clarify. :-)
