We have carefully considered your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2013. Given our surging application volume and very strong credentials of our applicants, admission to the University is becoming increasingly competitive. As a result, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date.

Your application will be re-evaluated, and a final decision will be made based on how your credentials and academic achievements contribute to the composition and quality of this year’s freshman applicant pool. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early-April, 2013.

I live in Ohio but I’m from Argentina! I don’t know how to tag people in this! @xcsinger210

What was your stat? If you don’t mind me asking!

@jw10395 I did hear back yesterday technically and they started sending out decisions last Friday and send them every Friday. But for example while I got accepted last night, a friend of mine for deferred but he did RD.

I’m not even going to bother checking WA til next Friday…and I bet it still won’t be up by then

@shj941013 don’t worry!!! Seriously anyone feel free to ask me anything! U of M is my top choice and when I got deferred EA I was devastated and have been freaking out since that day so anything I can do to help!

29 ACT
3.2 GPA-- I had bad grades freshman and sophomore year but got them up to all As last year and this year but still took APs and challenging classes all 4
Strong, as in more than average NOT TO BE COCKY, extra circulars from student government to sports to music clubs to starting charity runs at my high school and getting to the international level of DECA and an internship, I challenge myself every summer by going to a college for a month or so and taking classes there… and that’s just a glimpse so I just mean I’m just trying to let you guys know that all of my EC probably helped out my GPA and ACT
My school doesn’t do class rankings so I don’t know that
I had good recommendations from two teachers I’ve known since junior year, sent in another one after I got deferred

That’s it I think!!!

Ohh okay! Thank you!!

Do you guys think it’s too late for me to send another recommendation letter in?

Send it! It can’t hurt and, if you don’t, you will wonder if that could have made the difference.

I got the bad decision letter for ea and I still got in so don’t worry guys!

Thank you for your freshman application to the University of Michigan. After an initial individualized and comprehensive review of your application, we have determined that we will need additional information in order to make a final decision. We will not re-evaluate your application file until after our regular decision deadline of February 1, 2013. We need this additional information and time to ensure that we give your application the best possible review. We will notify you of a final decision on your application by mid-April.

The quality of grades earned in academic courses is one of several critical factors taken into consideration in evaluating a student’s competitive admissibility. To give your application a final evaluation, we will need your fall semester or first trimester grades. Because it is important that we receive these grades as soon as possible, please request to have a PDF of your grades sent from the issuing institution to our office via an e-transcript vendor or to ecredentials@umich.edu. If your counselor sent the initial School Report for your application through The Common Application online portal, they will need to complete the 2012-2013 MidYear Report using the same method. Otherwise, please ask your high school counselor to fax a report of these grades to our office at 734-936-0740.

My WA looks exactly like it has for the past few months after my application was received. How exactly will it look different once a decision is made? Does the acceptance/rejection letter pop up on the main screen, or will there be a new link to get to the decision?
