I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage. So long as you haven’t gotten a letter of rejection (and some people have!), I think we still all have a good shot. It’s just a matter of waiting… and waiting… and waiting ;_;

^ Absolutely! If you haven’t heard, take heart – you are still in the game!!! Other students may have moved on to other schools and may be rejecting U Mich, decided its too much $$ (particularly out of state students), etc. so some of those “accepted” slots may be opening up again.

I got deffered EA (think I got the middle letter) and I have a 34 ACT, 3.5 GPA 6 AP classes, and your pretty typical 4 years of two sports with community service and groups etc. Still waiting for a decision

sigh i dont think im getting in T_T

Is there a chance a wave of decisions will be released this week?

dont know but i know that i will be refreshing my WA every 2 seconds beginning thursday night.

Seconded ^^ there will be no sleep Thursday night.

D got in to LS&A on Friday, she was deferred EA and had the “good” deferral letter. Silly of me to even ask, but will she still be considered for Ross as she applied to Ross as well? When do they typically release Ross decisions - do you get a response from Ross either way?

Thanks for the wonderful support of this community through the agonizing wait since Dec.

What is a good deferral letter?

Will you get an email once your decision is posted? Seems kind of pointless to keep checking WA if this is the case.
Also my friend just found out he got in, so obviously nobody truly knows when decisions will come out!

Your friend found out today?

Um, emails generally come out later than when WA is updated (from what I’VE seen), so sometimes it’s worth checking WA first as you’ll find more up-to-date information there.

I now know of three people that found out they got in today. Maybe they release them every business day until they’re done?

@magemeja the one that says “we are pleased that you applied and are impressed with your achievements”

Anything today?

Me:Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to find out if a decision has been made on my application since I have not received my decision yet.
Marianne: When did you apply ?
Me: Before the early action deadline, I was deferred.
Marianne: Okay, then you will hear back by early April. Possibly before, but early April.

That’s when my son heard - April 5th last year, accepted, after applying EA in October. As long of a wait as it sounds, at this point it’s only 30 days away! So worse case scenario, if you don’t hear sooner, you will know the answer in about 30 days. Hang in there!

According to my high school counselor, this “good deferral letter” is a myth. I too got excited because I had received this supposed good letter, but she told me that every student from my school who she had talked to received the same one. I don’t know if this is true or if there is something she doesn’t know, but I go to a school where a good portion of the student body applies to Michigan and subsequently a portion are deferred.

thanks for your response, I guess mine wasn’t a “good one”…it said,“After multiple individualized and comprehensive evaluations of your application to the University of Michigan for Fall 2013, we believe that you have something uniquely valuable to contribute to our campus. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process.”…I am thinking that is not the same as thank you for applying and we are impressed with your achievements…

I know someone that just for a call from the dance program saying that they got in!! I’m EA deferred LSA…ahh!!
