Official EA Countdown

(to iplayoboe)... sorry haven't practiced a dance yet :)

lol.....hahaha

http://www.yaledailynews.com/article.asp?AID=25563

Just so we all know for sure, that article says that last year's decisions were online at 6PM.

OMG not a countdown! How about something fun? (go to the or game thread. that's the hangout spot)

32 days...

Not to throw off your count or anything, but the confirmation letter says the 16th. Do you have a different date on your letters?

We've decided to use the 15th as the day because they came out early last year and we expect them to come out early this year as well. Sometime at night on the 15th.

lol That's great-- I'm glad you guys have all worked this out! One less day to worry. I hope they post early again this year. Was it late at night on the 15th?

It was 6 PM on the 15th.

gah. nevvvvvvvvvvvvvvver going to survive that long

Iplayoboe,
you will survive, we all will. Every day we have to both think of something different to focus on to keep busy (your oboe?) and spend some time checking in with the others on this web site to get support as I can see you do. The whole process is excruciating for parents and kids, but somehow we're all going to make it. I really hope that all the people on this site get in because you all sound so interesting and passionate. Everyone will be here when the results come in and we'll all celebrate and commiserate.

thanks andi :)
best of luck to your son too, seems as though you are just as anxious as the rest of us :)

iplayoboe, do you have a back-up school? keep working hard, you can do it.

I am as anxious! I started looking in here because I was anxious for him.... but now I'm anxious for all you guys too!!!!!!

i got into Penn State Main Campus, so i have a backup-backup, otherwise, Cornell, Princeton, Brown, Dartmouth, Washington, Macalaster, Vassar, Binghamton, Boston University.
The applications are ready and waiting, not all filled out, in case Yale doesn't happen. Yale still has my heart though.

haha same here.. except everything else is already filled out.. i'm still waiting for my safety school acceptance though.

besides getting into Yale, im sure, getting accepted, especially the first one you get, is the sweetest feeling. like 20 pounds taken off your shoulders. and you get to tell people, "hey guess what, i got into college" and they say "YALE!!??" and then you get to laugh and say " i said COllege, not YALE! haha."
the looks people give you are priceless

fantastic. Really good choices, now I won't be so worried about you...but of course I still will because I know you want Yale.
Ok.....so one more day.

it took me forever to come up with a list. haha. people would tell me, "you need safeties!!" and the only thought that would occur to me would be "why? I'm going to Yale."
but they smacked some sense into me and I found a list of schools I really liked.

I'm applying to 10 other schools besides Yale and about 6 of them are reach schools. I figure I'll hopefully get into ONE of my reach schools since I applied to so many of them. Then I have 2 schools that I'll most likely get into and one definite school where I have a full scholarship. I would die if I have to go there though.

But honestly, I don't like any of them even CLOSE to as much as I like Yale, not even any of the reaches.
