Official EA Countdown

yeah.

i have a rather large list, filled with reaches, fits, and safeties:
REACHES
1. Yale
2. Brown
3. Columbia
4. UPenn
5. Harvard
6. Princeton
7. Stanford

FITS
1. Northwestern
2. JHU
3. Berkeley

SAFETIES
1. University of Michigan
2. Brandeis

also, where is everybody??? it's 3 am! i'm the only one here?

I have an incredibly large list. The closer it gets to Yale's admission notification, the more schools I add just because I'm so nervous. Again, I don't love any of them like I love Yale, even though I know that if I get turned down by Yale I'll end up happy somewhere.

31 days left...

I'm applying to:
Reaches: Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Princeton, Stanford
Safeties: Wheaton (IL), University of Illinois

No real matches for me :)

huge reaches: yale, princeton, upenn
less of a reach: williams, duke
slight safety: wash u, tufts
safety: mich, uva

I'll need to add more when I don't get in. It's annoying because I'm not applying to a bunch of those schools if I actually get in so I don't want to do their essays-- but that's slim so I better start them!

ritzbitz, i would put washu and williams in ur reach column.

The above is based on what my guidance counselors told me

So, are you guys going to start checking on the 13th?

I'll officially stop sleeping on the 10th and will check continuously until I get a decision.

same. i only want to get a decision before the 13th if its a yes, thats my 18th bday and id hate to ruin it. lol

heh the 10th is my birthday. I'd prefer to look afterwards. lol :) part of me wants to wait until 3:30 P.M. on the 17th to check, because I'll be done with exams. I can go check, and either be happy or bummed in my house with nothing else (hopefully other college apps will be sent off by then) to worry about. :)

I know I'll check on the 13th though.

I wish we could just go the grizzly bear route and HIBERNATE until mid-December. And I'm not even going to pretend...like Lindsey, from the 10th on, I'll probably be walking around with my laptop glued to me, checking COMPULSIVELY. Although...I was thinking tonight that all in all, despite the agony, the waiting period went by relatively quickly. I feel like it was yesterday that our countdown was at 45 days, and now we're in the teens! WHooaa :o

do you guys think the ea acceptance rate will be lower this year? i read somewhere on the YDN site that last year they predicted the EA yield to be 80%. if i remember correctly, the actual yield was 88%. do you think this affects us? haha, just something for me to think about while i try to get some sleep for my interview tomorrow morning!

I hear that the new date for online notification is December 13? Any info on that?

Umm, I think that rumor sprang from the "My Admission Rep called me...." thread, of which the credibility is currently in doubt...

anyhow, 18 days

oh i didnt opt for email/electronic notification. i need the drama of the envelope

ughhh the waiting period is enough drama for me!

I know what you mean about that envelope drama Stanford, but I was just afraid of a breakdown in my driveway (because, no matter what happens, there will be some sort of hysteria that day). I thought I would spare my neighborhood of my screams. :)

haha im more of the "smash the monitor in"-type

hopefully itll be "hug & kiss the monitor" and bake cookies for the whole neighborhood to make up for thrilled shrieks in the driveway... not smash the monitor. haha and anyway, i like my monitor, its smash the wall
