Official EA Countdown

or collapse on couch and cry and stay in bed all night and not do any work- correction: don't do any work until christmas break...

If we find out the 16th I have a bball game at 5:30 so that will suck. I won't be able to check until after. At least then I can come on here and see whether there is a massacre or not

so long as we are all supportive of eachother come Dec 13/15/16 no matter who gets what im sure we will manage to get at least some school work done, even if we sustain ourselves on jello and other non-chokable foods containing massive amounts of sugar. no matter how my decision comes down, ill be here congratulating the acceptees, comforting the deferees and condoling the nonacceptees.
i will however, be removing ropes, knives and electrical appliances from my reach before i check my decision... so i dont hurt myself out of depression or accidentally out of joy. lol

We are all eagerly awaiting the decisions, however:

From experience with SAT I and SAT II scores, if they come in at or above (acceptance) then the wait will have felt painful but irrelievent with the relief now rushing throught the body. If they are below (rejection and maybe deferral), then it feels like the wait should have gone on longer. For most of us, on December 14th we will be anxious and want the results quickely, but on December 16th we will wish that they weren't posted yet.

this is true. although a few of us will be lucky enough to be glad that December 15/16 came as "fast" as it did.

LOL victoria good call on the ropes, knives, and electrical appliances...don't forget chemicals and matches

I think most of us have such little confidence in our chances of acceptance as it stands that the "not-knowing" is even more agonizing than whatever we will feel after Dec 13/15/16...of course, I might change my mind about that come Dec 17th :o

I may not have the guts to look as soon as December 15th. If so, I probably won't be able to visit the CC boards until I do. Hopefully, my addiction to CC will help me see the inevitable.

I dont know if ill be able to visit the 13th or not. on one hand ill be dying to know (esp if you all online are talking about your own decisions IF they are online then ya know...) but on the other, hopefully ill be out of the house celebrating with my SENIOR LICENSE AFTER THE STUPID CERFEW ON MINORS...

hahaha. so many days!!

nickleby, i'm probably just terribly confused, but for some reason i thought you were applying RD?

arghhhhhhhh why cant it come sooner.

Nope, sent it in last week.

Just kidding. I'm sorry if I haven't been clear the last month. EA to Yale. RD for the rest of 'em.

Well 16-18 days left depending on when the decisions come (13th, 14th, or 15th). One second I'm thinking there is absolutely no way I'm going to get in, get your others apps done and expect not to go the Yale... the next second I think, well I have the stats, so maybe I'll just get lucky and the cards will fall my way for once. Anyone have a time machine?

I think Michael J. Fox has one...and it could always come on the 16th, so extend that waiting range from 16 to 19.

Victoria, ewwww there's a curfew for minors where you live? blechcchh thats a bummer

In PA, people who don't have a senior license (which you get when you're 18 or, if you took driver's ed, can get after a year of having your license) aren't allowed to drive past 11. Ridiculous.

my deepest condolences, that's such a bummer!

there's no such law in NY...or in new haven for that matter :D

As many as 18 days left, as few as 15 :( :) :( :o

oh yea NJ too, u cant drive past 12 or with more than one non-family member if ur not 18, according to teh law. luckily its rarely enforced, and even if it is its only a $50 fine, no points.

The PA law is just there so that they have another reason to yell at you if you happen to be doing something "bad" already. You have to be pulled over for another reason; they can't pull you over for looking young, obviously. Admittedly, though, I want so badly to be pulled over for looking young. That way I can just flip out at them. Sigh!

in VA.. you can't drive past midnight... but yea.. i do it all the time..

i feel your pain, dtown :(

yea it is only to keep you from doing something stupid at night but the cops where i live are really bored (theres like, no crime except shoplifting around here) so they pull people over after 11 for "little tiny things" and if youre under 18, youre screwed. and besides the driving cerfew, we have a cerfew cerfew, its at 11 as well, minors aren't allowed to be outdoors past 11 without an "escort". for 15 and below the escort has to be a sibling over 18 or someone over 21 and for 16 & 17 years olds it has to be someone who is 18. They rarely ever enforce it, except when they see you having fun (like midnight man hunt or mass capture the flag in the park... then they show up and kick you out... stupid cops... get a life.)
