hahaha
I’ve been hearing that a lot…“Martel is not a college.”

Anyone know what we have to do now? Is there anything else we should look into, fill out, etc? Or do we just patiently wait until Dec. 15th haha

wait until dec 15th. why would their be anything to fill out you already finished your app -_-

i hope we get it before december 15th!!

dixie: that is the one thing that pretty much all the rest of the colleges agree on. Also everyone hates jones.

Heh how come “martel is not a college”?

I had my interview yesterday and it went pretty well – it lasted two hours and a half yay!

Just college rivalry stuff…don’t worry, if you do come to Rice you will be indoctrinated, er, educated, about all of this…and definitely don’t sweat which college you will be in as you will come to love the one they assign you to!

hah have you guys joined the facebook group? i kind of want to but then if i didnt get in i would feel stupid lol

Cocoaluna: haha same! I decided not to though…it would be insanely depressing if I had to remove it from my groups on December 15th haha
Jersey: two and a half hours?!

Those of you have not checked out Rice’s virtual tour on their site…I suggest you check it out! It’s partly why I fell in love with Rice…

What? How in the world did your interview last two and a half hours?

Mine was just thirty minutes, and I felt I did really well. Dx

I was pretty surprised that it lasted so long. I got to her house at 1 and I guess we ended up having a lot to talk about – I asked her about her high school experience and how that compared with her experience at Rice, I asked about the dating scene at Rice (lol), her thesis for her major, her work experience, her benefits as an alumna, the leniency of the campus, just a lot of stuff that made me even more excited about Rice in the event that I get in. I guess I had a lot of questions and she did too, and when I got back into my car I checked my watch and it was 3:30, and I was like omg! But it didn’t feel like it was that long, which is good.

ughh mine lasted like only 20 minutes

Heheh, i’m sure you all did well. I’d say quality, not quantity, but hey, Jersey, so long as it was a good interview it doesn’t matter if it were long or not =P

I didn’t even get to do an interview ahh lol

Interviews are more for helping the student gather information than for selecting new Rice students. I’m sure you both did fine!

yeah i dont think not having an interview will hurt you. mine wasnt so good, i got super nervous!!
where else are you guys apppling?

Boston College, Northwestern, UChicago, Fordham, NYU, Emory…

Basically great schools near a big city (:

dude…I don’t think I can wait until Dec 15th.

kinda refusing to apply anywhere else lol. Not gonna think about it until December 15th =] in the event that I’m deferred or rejected, I’m gonna use the anger to fuel my essays/college choices ^_^

Jersey Jew: I know you are excited and anxious, but it really is a good idea to plan ahead/get started on other apps, just in case. If you put it off till mid december you are gonna be really stressed during christmas break…particularly if you need more teacher recommendations. Besides, doing apps will help you get your mind off rice’s app.

Jersey Jew, I agree with demonsword. Besides, although "use the anger to fuel my essays/college choices " was obviously a joke, if you are going to be that upset about not getting Rice, you probably WILL be using your anger and depression to fuel your other apps, and you won’t be very attractive to the schools.

True true, all true. Yeah I’ll do that hahaha

Ugh so tonight I found out that my school didn’t send my transcript or school forms to Rice. They’re giving me a week to send it to them because it’s not my fault, but I’m still really angry. It seems like there’s something wrong with the new electronic transcript system at my school because a lot of my peers applying ED to other colleges have been having the same problems =

First post here… I have applied ED to Rice, but took the Nov 7 SAT II. Now, I’ve received an email from admissions saying that my file is incomplete because they have not received all SAT IIs (they need 2). They’ve given me time till Nov 16 to get the scores in, but the scores won’t be available before Nov 24… anyone else in this situation? Thanks a lot.
