hey i think youre fine if you’ve called and they said they’ve gotten all your stuff. the letter was literally a paper copy of the email, and i got it a week after i got the email which i got a day or two after i submitted the application, but you know, it says we dont really know your specific case but we got something, so i wrote on their forum and confrimed. so i wouldnt worry if you called! :)

what is lsped? that everyones talking about? i think it means the thing where they put u into the liberal arts program or sumthin? and whats GSPed?

i got a letter for NYU poly saying that they would accept me but i think thats a flake…right? its in brooklyn.

if i live in California, does anyone know when i should start asking the person who gets our mail if i received anything? do they ship it out earlier so i receive it on time?

where do i go if i dont get in! lol jk but does n e one have n e recommendations for other good colleges in new york? i LOVE new york and i just want to leave california but idk of any other colleges there that aren’t co ed like Barnard. USC is a lot like NYU over here. im applyin to others but i donnt really want to go them if u know what i mean and i need to prepare myself becuz i dont think ill get into NYU…not that n e one wants me to go there over here…but its MY dream school. since like october lol.

thanks NYUwouldbenice! I sent in my application using the paper version, so I keep rethinking everything, wanting to make sure I didn’t make an error anywhere - that’s why I was asking! Again, good-luck everyone =)

I thought we were supposed to receive letters in the mail, but then I heard a rumor that NYU was informing all applicants online this year because they’re going paperless.
Anyone know?

@ Letsgetstuffdone
are you serious? I’ll call tomorrow and ask if they can confirm. Has anyone else hear of this? Also some kids last year were also notified online with thier acceptances is this only for international students?

oh yeah! can someone message me if they hear that its sent via email? plz! as u know, im dying to find out just like u probly r! and if i get into liberal studies…should i do it? whats the difference? like i know that u dont get into the major u do and u take classes to fulfill electives or sumthing…? but ive taken like 30 units so far and ill have probly 40 by the time im outta high skool.

also…if i dont get in, ive taken all the classes i could take to qualify as a “transfer student to a csu or uc” since i live in cali, at my community college and i have like 3 more classes to take which can be done during the summer. if i dont get in, should i just complete that and then be a transfer to nyu…? or go somewhere else and then transfer from a real university like claremont or usc?

aaand what does the rejection packet look like? small little envelope? sorry not tryin to be negative…just preparin myself! : ]

I read somewhere on cc that NYU has been releasing decisions for the past two weeks, doesn’t seem like too many cc are hearing back or getting acceptances.

@cool breeZe
I don’t know about that becuae I called about 2 weeks ago and they just started processing applications but then again who knows cause we have one person on here who just got LSP’d.

I know of someone who got a letter back. I think it was an LSP though.

Baby, if you are put into LSP you will take a broad variety of classes (if you were in CAS you would take some major specific courses). After two years in LSP, you move into CAS and work towards your major. You also have the chance to study abroad as a freshman if you are in LSP.

In the facebook group for NYU ED someone mentioned that at her audition, they said that they’d send emails…
I just want to know if I’m in.

I just saw the post. I’ll call tmrw and ask but wow that sounds really interesting. At tisch this past summer they said that they are still going to notify thru mail. But it really eases some stress but I’m still nervous none the less. I just want to get notifies already.

yeah itd be kinda kool to get to know thru email first but i kinda wanted to open the letter if i got accepted. but i probly wont lol. and does n e one know what to do if my mom keeps opening my mail? i told her not to (ppl say to confront the problem…tried that) so i got my college letters sent to my other address where my managers get the mail first. so now i have to tell them to hide it basically and thats just kinda awkward.

so far…we dont use our nyu id for anything right?

and so if i got into liberal studies, i shud definitely just do that?
