The applications of all the other schools I’m applying to are due by March 15th, and I’m supposed to receive decisions around mid-May (like the majority of the people on this board).
I might be able to finish Emory’s supplement and financial aid forms by then (and therefore receive a May decision), but honestly speaking, I’d rather not.
Is it possible to hold off on committing to a school until June 15th, or does this not usually fly with schools that have earlier deadlines? Should I just call each individual college and find out?

I’m in the same situation justina11.
Emory isn’t my first choice, and it’s acceptance period is 2 weeks.

Anyone know if we can send in two professor recs?

Hi guys I submitted my app few days ago. I’m a little confused on the rolling admissions. So Emory could make a decision within few weeks or just send a decision on May 1st?

I submitted two professors recs :)

Yes send in 2 recs

Hey we only have 2 weeks to decide right, if accepted?
If we pay the deposit, does that mean we have to go?

Never dealt with transfer admission, but I remember people paying the deposit then going to another institution when they applied as a freshman. Check the website or ask someone who is more familiar with the process :)

Does anyone know if just the application needs to be submitted (and paid) by the priority deadline?

Not including the transcripts, scores, recs, etc.

The Common Application explicitly states that Emory’s deadline is May 5th (for some reason it makes no mention of the March 15th priority deadline), so this is probably the last day they will accept applications from transfer students.

I’m thinking about applying, but I want to know if it would be worth the trouble. Freshman year I went to Drexel for a computer science major, and ended up with a 2.0 GPA (I hated my major/classes and I partied a bit too much.) Anyways, this year I’ve transferred to a community college near home. Last semester my GPA was 3.6, and I expect to do at least as well this semester. I’m taking mostly humanities and social science classes this year. My high school scores were alright. I had a 3.7 GPA, 5 AP classes (scores: 5, 4, 4, 3, 2), 1800 SATs, and 30 ACTs. I’d be applying to Emory for a Neuroscience major if that makes any difference. Realistically what are my chances of getting in?

I’m applying to Emory as a transfer student. I’m also applying to Vanderbilt. Hopefully I hear from them around the same time so that I can make a decision without having to throw down deposits…How late do you think we’ll hear from Emory? I was reading the transfer thread from last fall and people didn’t seem to get responses until June…

I’m a conditional transfer so I’m already in. Good luck to everyone still waiting on a decision! Any NBB majors?

probably because the deadline last year was 1st, June. I’ve applied to Emory and Vandy too. Emory said if you finished application before the priority deadline(15th,March) you will have decisions available on 1st, May. I don’t know if you completed before or after that date, but I’ve done it in early January. The waiting is really torturing me!!! I’m totally cluelss about when will Vandy release the decision via email(I’m international transfer) and when can I have my decision available on myUNC. Anyway, wish you a satisfying result !

I applied by the priority deadline and my admissions counselor told me that I’d hear at the end of April/beginning of May. I’m anxious to hear!

NBB right here! Not in yet, but am looking forward to getting accepted and joining the ranks of behavioral biologists… or smart psychologists, however you want to look at it.

Hey~I’ve got a little confused about the ambiguous words on the Emory website. It says" Students must be able to matriculate at least at a sophomore status" and “at least earned 28 credits”. I already completed more than 28 credits for my first year, but how do I know if they are transferrable??? What if I really am a rising sophomore but without enough transferrable credits to enter sophomore year in Emory??? Don’t universities usually evaluate an applicant’s status after admitting him?

I send email to the AO but they haven’t reply yet. Anyone can help explain to me?thx!

Zane 5665, are you a conditional transfer?
Penny2012, they evaluate credits after you’re admitted so as log as you’re taking enough general courses that would qualify you as a sophomore by the end of this semester you should be fine

I guess decisions are online May 1st for those who applied by the priority deadline.

Ahh! Few more days :DDD

Well I got into Vanderbilt so I have that option if I’m not accepted to Emory. I thought Vanderbilt was my first choice but I’ve heard some pretty bad things about how transfers are treated. Maybe Emory will be a friendlier environment? So we have about a week until we hear…exciting stuff!
