Official Fall 2010 Transfer Thread!

Wow! Those are incredible stats. You shouldn’t have any trouble.

One thing I find funny is that I could get in as a transfer student, but not a freshman student. I always thought transfer was the more difficult route.

Congratulations, jfeathe!

@ MIT2014

With a 4.0, you will probably be one of the first to be admitted into engineering, as GPA is the primary criterion for admission.

Make sure you let us know when you get accepted. I also applied to engineering; I’m dying to know when Cockrell begins accepting people.

Has anyone else been accepted/rejected today??

still nothing here- but two close friends accepted today! i’m so anxious!!

what were your friends majors, GPA’s???

one i have no idea, but she was also applying to Northwestern, so I’m assuming pretty good. the other- a 3.8. but we are all applying for the college of fine arts- theatre majors.

Damn… 3.8?! This makes me feel that I have no more chance of getting in with a 3.56… F M L? haha…

damn it seems like everyone who gets into Mccombs or the Engineering school has a 4.0, did you people have any social lifes at your old schools?(not a joke)

pretty cool though

Well my CC was surprisingly easy…easier than high school…so making A’s took work, but I still had a social life. Hook 'Em! :D

thaisteak- i totally understand. i’m in the same boat. and dying to know if I’m in!!!

@MIT2014 - I also applied ChE as a transfer, so let me know when/if you find out anything from them. Also, are you planning on doing on-campus housing, or apartments if you get in?

@UTUCB12 - I’ll let CC know as soon as I hear anything! Just curious, what’s your GPA and what indicator courses have you completed? I’m going to get an apartment, but i’m trying to find a roomy to cut down on costs…It would be great if I could find a fellow engineer to room with. What about you?

@MIT2014, I found out today that I got into ChE UT Austin. My GPA was a 3.92 and I am unfamiliar with the term “indicator courses” I was thinking about an apartment as well, dorms seem quite pricey.

“indicator course” may refer to like a remedial class? or maybe a required class? but i could be wrong

o cool, i will be in this situation next year.

when should i apply to UT?

Indicator courses are those classes needed in order to be accepted into a restricted major. For example, to gain admission into McCombs, one must have completed Micro and Macro Economics and Calculus I and II, commonly referred to as the ‘K’ and ‘L’ sequence.

@Pierrechn–You don’t need to worry about transferring into UT.

Congrats MIT2014!

I think indicator courses for engineering applicants would be calculus and physics, and possibly any other quantitative courses.

I was accepted into UT ChE yesterday!!! Hook 'em Horns!

Got in to College of Natural Sciences as a nondegree seeker!

Woohoo!

I’ll have a degree from Washington University in St. Louis in May in political science and a minor in economics as of spring 2010. My GPA was only a 3.56–it was trending upwards before it took a hit again the past semester (my idiocy), averaging something like a 3.8-3.9 in sophomore and junior year.

I’m taking computer science courses at UT before I apply to a Master’s program in computer science.

I’m out of state (Arkansas).

(As far as my other stats: 34 ACT, 2270 SAT. A good number extracurriculars/website design/etc while in college.)

Good luck all!

I just found out I was accepted to my first choice - College of Natural Science - biology. GPA 3.78. Still waiting for TAMU decision.
