since a lot of you guys are also applying for transfer to other schools, are you also on other cc transfer threads?

wow I just realized that I made a horrible mistake on my main ‘why transfer’ essay. I was so quick to send my app that I forgot to substitute Cornell for ‘Yale’ twice in the essay. Am I going to get auto-rejected, lol?

Something along the lines.

Yikes CornellArk, I don’t know if you’ll be auto-rejected but that’s definitely really bad.

Does it hurt you to get your application processed later? I sent everything in by February 24 but they still don’t have my midterm report yet (sent it last).

im not sure. i sent my college officials report along with my college transcript so I’m not sure why only the transcript has been processed.

@CornellArk hopefully they have a great sense of humor, otherwise we’re praying for you lol

@CornellArk, don’t worry one bit. These guys are going to read thousands of essays…think about it, wouldnt you find it funny? I bet they laugh. Good luck, can’t change the past, it is what it is right?

And no one worry about what your self serve thing says, the admissions people told me it takes weeks for everything to get processed. It’s not rolling admissions, so don’t worry about when it’s processed.

I have NOT received my ID till now.

@Jeremystory maybe you should call them? When did you submit your common app and supplement?

@CornellArk Did you make two accounts, one for Yale, the other for Cornell?

28th. I sent emails to them several times and received the same reply as follows:

“Important Application Processing Update: Cornell is currently receiving a very large volume of application materials. During our peak application processing period, our staff will be unable to respond to phone calls or e-mail inquiries about application materials. For the next several weeks we will devote all of our time and effort toward getting transfer applications to selection committees so that they may be given a thorough review. In early April, when mail processing nears completion, we will notify you if we are missing materials from your application, and we will provide you with an opportunity to complete your application. In the meantime, please do not send duplicate copies of your application materials. Thank you for your patience and understanding!”

Ugh I’ve gotten that generic answer too, that’s very annoying. Could it be that the email with your ID somehow ended up in a spam folder?

Also, does it say that your apps were downloaded on the common app site?

@jeremy
I created two commonapp versions

thanks for the reassuring words guys, lol.

@something12345 Yes, It shows “Downloaded 03/01/2012”.

@CornellArk: Oh…that makes sense. Awwe… Best of luck with your Yale application!

Hey everyone! So for mid term reports when do you think the absolute latest we can turn them in is? One of my professors won’t sign it until midterm and we have Spring break next week so basically that means I won’t be able to fax it over until the 26th of March! Anyone in a similar situation or have advice?

It says all over the website that midterm reports should be sent in as soon as they can be. Maybe you should call and ask them if they want you to send what you have and then fax the last one, but I doubt it will hurt your application if you wait til the 26th.

By the way, did you guys all wave your rights on your mid term reports? I didn’t because it says that you won’t see what people write and I went from professor to professor and didn’t want them thinking I was lying.

As for the midterm report, I emailed Ian at ILR, and he said turning the MT report in about 2-3 weeks will be fine. I barely started my spring semester 3weeks ago, so he said just wait until I have a test under my belt to send it so dont tripppp :D

@Something. I sent my midterm report on the 27th.
And they just received it today.
Call the school you wish to transfer to. It’s probably already been forwarded to the school for review, although they won’t look at it until you get your midterm report in.

Hey for all your ILR applicants - isn’t admissions rolling? So wouldn’t turning in your midterm reports early be advantageous?

Matisyahu - and you applied to CAS right? Ugh why haven’t they gotten mine yet!
