Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

ILRgirl – So glad to know I am not alone.

This has been incredibly difficult but things are moving. I dropped the form off at the one admissions that sent it off originally and emailed someone on the inside who emailed me about the last Report (interestingly enough asking me about sending one to Stanford…). So hopefully with someone on the inside it gets done earlier than it did last time.

I also have been able to secure an appointment with the head of the counseling department to fill out the portion of the form that the person who does the disciplinary record at the other school refuses to fill out. Hopefully with half filled out at one school, and the other half at another, it will be sent in by the end of the week.

[Question]
I read in an earlier post about everyone’s Financial Aid Status being To-Do for everything… Is that still the case?

i feel like cornell has to accept me now! they made the Cornell University Facebook page’s cover photo one i took!

@Christ1992 I saw it, Jacobi! It was a great picture. Hopefully that means something.

Just looked! Such a great picture :)

aww thank you everyone!! what a supportive community :stuck_out_tongue: lol
but yeah for those of you who didn’t get the phone call, honestly, don’t worry.
Maybe you got all your points across in your essays and an interview wasn’t necessary.
And for those of you who will be having their interviews good luck!

So…does anyone know what the acceptance rate for ILR is WITHOUT the GT?
And how many NY residents make up each class anyways??

Oh and the lady I spoke to said ILR applicants will hear back april 9th or 10th if anyone’s wondering.

Applied to Fall '12 College of Human Ecology for Human Development. Already accepted to Stony Brook and Binghamton U, but Cornell or UNC is where it is at for me.

Good luck Irony, I don’t know anything about CHE, but I hope you get in!

@haeji93 wow, I can’t believe she told you an exact date! Does anyone know one for CAS? I might try to call tomorrow and see if they’ll tell me.

good luck irony!
haej…i dont know about those stats…dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf…heres for the regular transfer admission…thats crazy did she mean theyll be mailed by those dates?

@haeji93 not sure, the exact, but being a GT to ILR, I can tell you that I was told that there could be around 70ish GTs this year, so if you compare that to the 120 or so that they accept, the actual acceptance rate isn’t that high. Nevertheless, it does vary year to year, ILR is REALLYY big on fit.

kidding me? 40% acceptance rate sounds great!

If you use that 70 figure and put it with the last year’s figures, it comes out to about 25% acceptance rate. Then again, if there are more GT transfers this year, then there are probably more open spots this year. What I wonder is how many GT’s were accepted last year so we would have a more accurate measurement. Still it’s better than CAS by a lot.

Yeah I’m very worried about CAS. i know I’m qualified, but so is everyone else. in the end i feel like its almost a coin flip

That’s exactly how I feel about CAS. I try so hard not to get my hopes up because it’s just so competitive and so many great applicants are rejected. It feels like such a crap-shoot.

Couldn’t agree more with both of you… I’m so nervous! I want us all to get in lol

I am so nervous too…I always wish to post my stats again to relieve this nervousness…sigh

Hey something, please let us know if you got a chance to speak to CAS about reply dates. Hopefully they have a date as clear as ILR!

I just talked to a CAS lady who said that letters won’t come out until after April 23!! So far away!! :(

Can someone else call? The # is 607-255-4836. It’d be good to see if someone can confirm this number

This date** not this number.

Hi all!
I just want to clarify something, as I’ve received a private message about this.
I actually confused and misspoke when I said I was a GT. I am a Transfer Option candidate. I applied in the fall to transfer this semester (Spring 2012) but did not have enough pre-reqs completed at the time for CALS (Comm major). Cornell told me to complete these (with B’s or better) and then I would be accepted. I believe GT (guaranteed transfers) are for NY Community Colleges with transfer agreements? So sorry for the confusion!
Are there any other Transfer Option people?

I called the number, and they wouldn’t give me a specific date–just kept saying that letters would start to be sent out mid-April.

April 23rd seems awfully far away–I actually don’t think I can wait that long–not possible.
