If anyone’s interested: if you have an instagram searching the hashtag “uw” is a good way to see people who’ve gotten their letters. That way you can see what the envelope looks like, as well as the letters.

@speedsolver what do you mean? Isn’t it the same decision dates?

Agreed! @NinRash It wasn’t easy, but I don’t regret it at all! It sometimes sucked especially when I had to be studying and everyone was having fun, but right now I know it was the best decision I ever made.

@Paolaa what mail service did UW use to send your packet? Maybe we can do a little bit of predicting for us east coasters :p

@UniversityHugger:

Ooh, I guess they now put some DA slips in the welcome packets. However, in general:

It was the U.S post office. Nothing special. @UniversityHugger

Ok, Mr Mailman…bring that gold envelope today please!

Acceptance letter arrived!
US Mail First Class, 40 miles south of UW
My UW account (UW Net ID) shows no changes at all. Transcript still does not load.

Congrats wanative!! Good luck everyone!

When I visited the other day, the admissions person said that people who put Aero or MechE as one of their major choices are likely to receive their letters toward March 31st. I’m not sure if this just applies to the “top 100” who are considered for direct admission to the department, or everyone. I’m one of them… still no transcript.

EDIT: My letter just arrived! Accepted so much for what the admissions officer said.

Congrats BigOto2!! Did you hear about your direct admission status yet?

S was accepted, got the letter today. We live in Bellevue, just across the lake from Seattle. His transcript has had a UWHS course on it for the last year and did not change at all. Good luck to all waiting!

Congrats PuzzledParent!! We live in Redmond and our mail always comes so late, like 4:00 - 5:00. Crossing my fingers my son gets his gold envelope!

Anyone been accepted to the Foster Direct program?

@WaMom2Kids Nope, nothing in the letter but I believe direct admission letters come separately. So that is probably what the admissions officer was talking about, although it sounded like she was talking about the general decision letter.

Since I’ve discovered I don’t know for certain whether Aero would be better for me than Electrical or Compsci or something else, I’m not too concerned about getting direct admission. :)

@Paolaa do they give a specific date for when they sent it? That is, did they send it on the 14th and you received it today? Or like same day? etc

BigOto2 sounds like you have some great options to choose from in the future. Best of luck to you!

They sent it yesterday @UniversityHugger

Hmmmm, so those living on the east coast should receive it anywhere from this monday to this friday… Interesting.

Accepted! In-state.
