How did you get a waitlist notification

@nutter398 Snail-mail. Came today. They said if you’re wait listed you will hear back between May 15 (yep, after the May 1 deadline, of course) and August 1. So basically if I do get in eventually, I’ll be out a deposit from somewhere else. Thus is life, I guess.

Oh, and chances are kinda random each year I guess. It says last year about 700 of 754 (woah) wait listed applicants got in, but in 2012 it was about 500 out of 1,500 (woah x2).

I’ve said it a bunch before, but anyways, CONGRATS TO THOSE THAT GOT IN!

hey guys I can attest to the “unofficial transcript” trick…mine loaded a few days ago and I got my letter of acceptance today (earth/space sciences)…probably won’t attend since it’s too expensive (from the midwest)

Looks like I got in, haha. Coxswain from Massachusetts here, anyone else trying out for the crew team?

UW IS AWESOME !!!

Also, would someone tell me about this unofficial transcript? Is it a UW thing?

Just got rejected :-< this is the third and it’s from my dream school. Best of luck to all of you :)

@Atari875 Go to UW portal at UW NetID sign-in - Stale Request; then click Log in with your UW Net ID and log in. Then click on “Admissions” written on left side. After that, click on “Unofficial Transcript” written in lower right corner. If the transcript link works and transcript loads with your student number written on it then you got in!

@ucuwned15 things happen. just get over them and reconsider your options.

Has anybody received financial aid yet? I talked to the FA counselor, who told me awards would be given out from the end of the month through early April. :O

I got in!!! So excited and a $28,000 scholarship which makes it a real possibility. I just want a DA into Biochemistry which is very competitive. I am so humbled and honored. Congrats to all, and don’t be discouraged to those who did not. There are so many good schools out there.

@PotatoMan90 hey, did the counselor say if we would be notified via email or snail mail? thanks

Just got in! I got a 16,000 scholarship which truly adds to the appeal. For anyone here asking about scholarships, my school college counselor informed me that the awards can be staggered for a school of this size and so the awards and aid for people may be passed out through the next month or so. So don’t be nervous. For anyone here who didn’t get in. Chin up, there are so many great places for you. This wasn’t your time to shine, but there will be another great one out there. Congrats to everyone!

My son just learned that he was wait-listed, which was a little surprising after acceptances to UC San Diego and Davis, but he has seven acceptances already, and has one attractive affordable option that he can live with happily if nothing else works out. We are NJ residents.

S received his rejection letter yesterday. Out of state student with 30 ACT 3.1 UW/4.1 W (at independent prep school). He’s not particularly devastated because he’s already been accepted to some great liberal arts colleges (with an average of $12k/yr merit scholarship), but I think his GPA was way too low for out of state admission (a few Cs sophomore year). What also didn’t help was the inability to upload recommendations, which were great, but we understand a school receiving 31,000 applications for 6,000 spots just can’t read everything. Oh, well. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Any out of state students who have received merit scholarship money? If so, how were you notified of it?

I just got waitlisted. OOS.

Major: Computer Science.

Daughter got in OOS - Florida.

@ApplicantA The counselor just said we would be notified from late March through early April. I assume awards will be displayed on the “Financial Aid Status” section of your MyUW account.
