Official Georgetown transfer thread fall 2013

I looked back again to last year’s thread and it looks like there is a very good chance some really well qualified applicants will hear back Friday. Thoughts? I’m so distracted by all of this.

via email or mail?

hopefully, it will be through email, just can’t stand wait anymore…

I’m fairly certain that people who hear early will hear by email and then letters will be sent out afterwards. It’s all about filling the spots for GU, so the quicker they can get acceptances out the better for them. Very different from how they do freshman admits, which are all mailed USPS on the same day regardless.

If you get accepted you will get an email and an official letter a few days later. If you don’t get in its just a letter. They send out all the rejections a few days before June 1st. So if you don’t hear anything in the next few weeks the its safe to assume you probably didn’t get in…
I agree. The wait is killing me!

Yep, @transferAP, I’m pretty sure if I don’t hear within the next nine days, it’s a lost cause.

You are tearing me apart georgetown

Last year people were still getting acceptance letters through the middle of May. A lot got in off the wait list too. My guess is many of the accepted already commit to another school because Georgetown is so late notifying.

where would you guys if not admitted to Georgetown? sorry, I’m not jinxing but just out of curiosity.

how do we know if Georgetown has received all of our application materials? I just received an email from GW stating that I am missing my college transcript and my dean’s report, and I’m worried that I have the same problem for gtown. should I call the office and ask?

@jay327 I’d probably go to GW, but that also depends on whether or not I get accepted there. transfer admissions is a huge toss up. from previous threads it looks as though a lot of kids who got into gtown were either rejected/waitlisted at GW so now I’m freaking out.

@jay327

Georgetown is the one and only school I applied for transfer, because I love the school.

@transferAP I doubt what you said, a friend of mine got his acceptance from Gtown in mid-June, regular acceptance, not like off-waitlist kind of acceptance. So I guess they send out decisions on a rolling basis.

@toujours, if you don’t get an email from Georgetown regarding missing materials at this point, that probably means they have received everything they needed. What’s your major?

@yagiboonjota, I love Georgetown too!!! I have always wanted to go there ever since high school…

@jellybabe
I don’t think that is normal though. I’m just going off what I read in last years thread and what admissions has told me. When I called they said if you don’t get a letter by June 1st you can call and they will read your decision over the phone.

@jay327 I’m an Arabic major. I’m hoping that will help me admissions wise haha

From last year’s thread, the first person that hear back is on the last Friday in April…

Ugh, a great time to have a series of midterms when your mind is elsewhere.

^So true. It’s impossible to concentrate, and I have finals coming up.

Did anyone here apply last year and get waitlisted? It seems like the people that got accepted this early were those that had applied to GT before.

Finals are coming in a week…
