@transferAP Exactly what I hear about their admission process.

@yagiboonjota I think you have really really decent chance. 3.925 for CAL is superb,plus you are in honor program? I am from UCLA and my number isn’t as outstanding as yours. I just have some research experience and hopefully it can make a difference. We’ll see.

@lumberjack

dunno if you are applying as a rising sophomore or junior, but I was declined a research opportunity because of my relative “inexperience in the field” as a freshman (which actually turned out to be my essay topic). I did tell GT that I am currently planning on a personal research work unaffiliated with the school as an alternative though. I envy that you had such experiences!

Facebook group anyone?

@lumberjack I applied to SFS as well, International Politics, hopefully next week well start hearing back some decisions!

Facebook group anyone?

I was accepted to MSB a few days ago as a junior transfer applicant! A copy of the letter was sent to both my permanent and current address.

I didn’t have any missing components and hadn’t contacted them to request an early read. The statistics in the letter quoted 200 acceptances out of 2,000 applicants. MSB’s website states they accept about 50 of those transfer students each year. Most of their letters haven’t been set out yet probably, so there’s still hope. :)

So this year Georgetown decides to abandon emailing decisions? Irrationality at its finest.

^ I know, right? Are we in the 1980s? lolol

Also SFS. My stats feel pitiful compared to those I’ve read, but I have an astounding letter of rec (top 1% box checked for everything, astoundingly generous testimonial to my intellect, temperament, and critical thinking skills; I cried when I read it) and my interviewer was excited about me, my work ethic (full time job, mild involvement, and a 3.87 at my local university), and my “story”. He said he would do everything he could to get me a “shot”. That’s basically my crutch in the application process. I hope it’s enough. If I even get wait listed I’ll be shocked.

@maomix

No need to feel pitiful my friend. The “story” matters more than mere stats in transfer application, I’ve heard, so no worries!

^Agree. Everything other than essay help you stay in the picture, essays earn you admission.

Wait so when should SFS applicants hear?

@caricature

No one knows…hopefully the accepted find out this week.

so I called to catch up on my early read and he said it is very unlikely I will be accepted. Good luck to everyone else, moving on from now on.

^ If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your GPA?

College GPA 3.8 at a top 40 university, applied to MSB

did anyone get anything from the College

@TooFast You applied to Mcdonough right? Did he mention the waitlist?

Did any SFS applicants ask for an early read? If so, have you guys heard anything?
