@blueeeeish There were a few acceptance letters sent out during late may, but very few. From what I understand, they send more letters depending on how many accepted applicants decline or accept their spot at Georgetown.

There’s nothing wrong with turning down GU. Go where you think you’ll be most happy at.

As for acceptances. Schools do not wait to see how many accept their admissions letter before sending out more acceptance letters. That’s what the waitlist is for.

All schools admit more than the available seats based upon their own algorithm to determine an expected transfer enrollment yield (transfer students who accept admission). If the transfer yield is less than the available seats, they go to the waitlist. GU is no different.

By the end of this coming week, nearly all of the acceptance letters (I assume around 350-400) should have been mailed out.

@ SFS Rules
Turning down SFS makes me feel like cheating on my fiance, for lack of a better word. My professor and TA talked to me a lot about what to do on this academic path and the difference between SFS and Brown. And I decided that while SFS totally rocks, Brown might be a better place to prepare for grad school.

Thanks for all the help throughout the whole process. Hopefully we can come across each other some time in the future.

Anyone who got accepted get any financial aid reward letters yet?

so has anyone got a rejection letter yet?

After finding the GU Common Data set, my assumed acceptance numbers are off by a very large margin. Though these are not the numbers you guys want to see, this years transfer numbers should be similar to the 2011-2012 application year:

1,986 Apps
222 Admitted (11.2%)
138 Enrolled (62.2% yield)

SO Any MSB applicants haven’t heard anything beside me??

I’m in Panic… :(
IS really hopeless

If we haven’t received anything yet, is it safe to assume that we will not be accepted?

Don’t despair; there’s still two-weeks left.

If you don’t receive an accept/reject letter by 1 Jun, call the admissions office and they’ll tell you your admissions status.

It seems not that many MSB have been accepted…

Please LEt me INNNNN

Let’s be realistic. If you haven’t gotten a letter, you are most likely rejected or wait listed. What can be gained from false optimism? NOTHING! I will just retreat back into my cynical world and wallow in misery.

@SFS But traditionally, are there this large of gaps in response times? Cause it seems like two weeks ago, a great deal of people heard and now it’s quite

Well for us sophomores out there who are anticipating rejection letters from the admissions, we have next year. I am going to try again next year, hopefully with more solid ECs and better things to write on my resume.

Do not lose hope.

I will come back people. Until then, cheers!

But there still were acceptances around this time right? There must have been one or two. Come on I seriously cannot live in such despair.

Acceptance or Rejection just let me know asap. I want to be free from this agony

@Stayheadstrong
The “lag” in response as noted here on CC is due to the small sample of GU applicants on CC. It’s not uncommon to receive acceptance letters towards the end of May.

As Yagi said, if you’re a Frosh, don’t sweat it if you don’t get in since there’s next year. If you’re a Soph, well, just sit tight… hope for the best, but plan for the worst and you’ll be okay.

I called GU today and the lady told me that all of whom have got accepted requested early reads…I don’t know how much i can rely on that. I also emailed my admissions officer this morning and the auto reply said his last day was may 14. So apparently, Georgetown has finished reviewing the applications.

I think at this point, over-worrying is needless since most decision should have been made. It is what it is. And like above posts said, if you’re freshmen, you can still apply for next fall. I’m sure that all of us have gotten accepted to some schools, if not Georgetown.

Hey guys im joining in
I transferred from a state school to the MSB in the Fall of 2012 and although I got my acceptance letter in early May, a lot of my transfer friends found out they were waitlisted really late in May and all found out they got in throughout the month of June. So if you haven’t heard from admissions yet this might be your situation too.

Thanks for the information. Hope to get my letter this week.

Do they notify the wait list with letter this year!! correct?

If not so, how they are going to contact us?
