I see… Good luck man!

(for those who also didn’t get interview things, you probably should also check to make sure that you received a confirmation email from Georgetown…and maybe log into the application to make sure that it was submitted)

…and I’m by no means insinuating that anyone else here is as incompetent as I apparently am- haha.

Just checked the conf. Mail. Well as it has already been said, not everyone will have the privilege to have an interview, so i am just hoping that’s the case for me.

Joining in… hopefully transfer students in the future will read these threads like we all do now and get some guidance from them.

3.75-3.8 gpa (depends on which classes they count)
1650 sat, 23 or 24 act (I forget exactly what is was, all I know is it was bad)
ecs; managed a couple campaigns, internships etc etc etc

I got asked for an interview and have been in touch with the guy as of this week. I’m excited for the interview, I love one on one conversations.

Anyone know the date they get back with results?

^ on the website it states June 1, but you’ll probably hear from them in May

I got the interview. I am starting to think it is based on availability of alumni willing to interview

Does anyone live in Colorado and got an interview?

hmm… I wonder why I am not getting anything from them… I live in California so there should be plenty of chances for an interview.

Or am I screwed

I am wondering if there’s something wrong with my application. I live in Boston but no interview or no additional email from georgetown except confirmation of receiving my application.

based on older transfer threads the strongest applicants generally didn’t interview. It was the more borderline admits that seemed to get them. I wonder how much it weighs in the decision if at all really. Unless one blows it somehow can’t see it having too much weight. Mine is Thursday with an infectious disease doc, something I mentioned wanting to pursue in my essays. Random luck or I wonder if more thought goes into the pairings? and how much of our applications do the interviewers see if any?

^ they’ll probably get to you sometime this week.

I looked at Georgetown’s common data set and it says that the interview is considered “important” for freshman applicants. Will it also be considered important for transfer applicants?

They also spread out the interviews over a few weeks. So you might still get called for one.

I remember reading that the interview was just to see that you were mentally sane, or something along the line. It was to make sure that you would fit into the community. Not sure how true that is, but I can’t see the interview holding that much weight.

@yolo, I don’t think that is necessarily true. It has only been 18 days since the application has been turned in. They are probably just now finishing sorting and processing all of the applications, so I doubt they would know which applicants are strong or weak. They probably haven’t read your essays yet either, so I am going to guess that it is pure coincidence that the alumnus interviewing you is an infectious disease doctor.

@yagi Your stats are pretty similar to mine. They are above average compared to those of the average accepted GT applicant, so I think the admission committee just hasn’t found anyone to interview you yet. Give it a couple more days and you will probably get an email. If you don’t, don’t worry because there have been plenty of people that have gotten accepted, but not received an interview.

Coincidence? I conveyed interest in economics and I will be interviewed by someone in that field.

Good luck to everyone

@Rain, that might not be coincidence. They might have just peeked at our applications to see our selected major or interest and tried to pick someone off that.

I did a quick google search on my interviewer and she is a lawyer, but I am applying as an Economics major.

Is anyone applying from the Chicago area and has gotten contacted for an interview?

Does anyone know about how many transfer students are accepted for each specific college? Or at least MSB?

^About 50, I think

I called to ask if all of my materials had been received and they said call back in a month! ;P
