I don’t believe there was an option online. I sent a newspaper clipping that included a photo, however.

@theclassof2013. Yes, I go to CCAC and a member of both the Honors program and PTK @ South Campus. Are you from the Pittsburgh are yourself, or is it just the few friends you know. Sorry I replied so late, caught up in school work. I am also considering transfering to
Georgetown into MSB for International Business/Finance, since I believe that being in DC can get me some quality learning experience and network with people in the area. Good luck in applying to Georgetown.

I went to Pitt last year (transferred out). That’s pretty much how I knew people at CCAC. So I’m a double transfer (?). And good luck with MSB.

And I called the admissions and they said to call back in 2 weeks (aka right before my deposit deadline) to see if they have a decision.

@theclassof2013. When they said to call back in 2 weeks, is that open to everyone? Or just people in similar situations to yours?

It was specific to the situation, I think.

does anyone have any idea when we are going to hear? i know that georgetown is notorious for taking their time but do you think that we will hear next week? last year a lot of people heard on may 6th which would be a week from today this year.

Ack well I just called and he said “You will hear by June 15th. We don’t know at this point.”

JUNE 15TH?!?!

^wait, what?! That can’t be true - their website says by June 1st…
I feel like the info the people in the office dole out is often unreliable. Hopefully that’s the case in this instance.

Maybe they received a higher number of applications than expected?

Thanks for all the info. Newtransfer259 and Hopes to be a Hoya. Anyone here apply to UVA or W&M? Two hours until decisions come out for them! The wait for gtown is so annoying.

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has voted to accept your application for transfer admission to Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the class beginning in the fall of 2011.

You are to be congratulated on your acceptance in a very competitive process. This year, Georgetown’s Admissions Committees considered over 1,900 transfer candidates for approximately 170 spaces. Enclosed you will find further information explaining details of your admission and enrollment. An evaluation of your transfer credits will be sent to you separately by your Dean’s Office. When you have reached your decision to attend Georgetown, please return the enclosed Enrollment Agreement Form along with the required $900 deposit. This deposit must be received by June 15th to confirm your place in the class.

I am pleased to speak for the entire Georgetown community in welcoming you to the University. I will look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Charles A. Deacon
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions

Woohoo! I got in!

Olv, what are you stats if you don’t mind sharing?

what time did you receive that? in an email?

“1,900 transfer candidates for approximately 170 spaces”

From the website: “Each year, the admissions committee evaluates approximately 1700 applications for transfer.”

Huge increase, as expected.

I got it a couple of hours ago in an email. I was very, very pleased.

What school did you apply to?

Regular ol’ Georgetown College, for Economics.

Well, I believe that congratulations are in order!

You’re officially the first person on CC to be accepted to Georgetown! CONGRATS!!! :)

Congrats OlvBabshe. I guess that means that the rest of us Georgetown College applicants could be getting our decision letters this week.

@OlvBabshe congrats! You were accepted by email, correct?
