***Official GWU Regular Decision Class of 2017 Discussion Thread

Accepted  so excited!! To those who were rejected or wait listed- I sympathize and I am so sorry. :(( I found, after being rejected by Northwestern yesterday reading your “why (insert school name here)” essays are the best medicine. It will remind u u have great other options that want u  best of luck <3

Still awaiting for my decision here in CA! Just curious for those of you that were accepted, did you guys also have the “accepted students” tab in your student activity center prior?

I was accepted and I did not check, but my friend was not admitted and he did have it.

Accepted into Elliot School and Elizabeth Sommers program with a $30,000/yr board of trustees scholarship!! will post full stats in the decision thread later! 2210 SAT 33 ACT

I also had the admitted students tab prior to when they removed it

@tugberk Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Because even if you didn’t get a scholarship, you would think that they might tell you that…I mean I could be wrong, but still.

@getatyou123 I don’t think I had the admitted students tab until like an hour before decisions came up. (and I was admitted)

Accepted into the Elliot School! And honors program!

It is online. You don’t have to wait to get the letter in CA.

$30,000 scholarship and Elizabeth Somers Women’s Leadership Program in Globalization, Economics, and Business !!! Ugh so happy :)

Where does it say what school you were accepted to…

How/when will we know about scholarships and aid?

The scholarship information is right under your decision, followed by any special programs (separate schools, honors, etc.) you were accepted to. Need-based FA, however, will come on the 29th so don’t despair if you didn’t get merit money!

For the NMFs who received GW merit awards - do you know if they were NMF-specific? Thanks.

People who got less-than-expected results: Tell your guidance counselors to stop telling people like you that GW is a safety. It is not. I have been saying this for 5 years now.

I’m an NMF and got a $30k scholarship. I don’t know if it was for NMF or not, but the website didn’t say it was. I’m not 100% sure GW knows I’m NMF, because I heard after I applied and I haven’t put down a first choice yet.

is anyone NOT going to accept because of the number fudging by GW on admission stats and not being ranked? just curious

If ds doesn’t accept, it won’t be because of that. If the money’s not there, he won’t be either. :)

No I won’t let that affect my decision. I don’t see how that would possibly affect student life, except it would mean that only students who really love the school will go, not because they only care about ranking.

I was accepted into the School of Media and Public Affairs for Political Communication… I am not sure if I am still interested in that major or that school. Is it possible for me to switch to the college of arts and sciences since the SMPA is within it?

Can anyone help me out here?

I just received two back-to-back emails, inviting me to a Dinner for Accepted Students in my area. I thought it was weird, since I didn’t receive an email notifying me of my acceptance, so I logged into the Activity Center assuming I had just missed it. When I click on “Application Status Check” it says:

“There is currently no application status information listed. If you have recently submitted your application, your information may not yet be entered into the system. Please try again at a later date.”

So my question is, did EVERYONE get an email about the dinner thing? Is it no notification of acceptance?

That seems really weird. I didn’t get a dinner invitation but I was able to see my decision. I would definitely call them as it sounds like there was some kind of mistake.
