if i have not gotten a FA email yet, does that mean I’m not getting any FA?

Ram0276:It’s worth waiting for- very impressive.

@ems1995: I doubt it. I have a really low EFC so I’m sure I will at least get a Pell Grant and I’d be very surprised not to receive other FA (American gave me 17k in institutional need-based, a Pell Grant, Stafford and Perkins loans and work-study). I haven’t gotten it either and it seems like a lot of people in the FB group are in the same boat. Maybe it’s taking longer than usual to process the forms?

@mmmgirl thank you for replying. GW is my top choice so I hope I get a lot of Fin Aid. My EFC is ~17,000, do you think I will qualify for substantial financial aid?

I have no idea because I haven’t gotten any FA yet and I don’t know firsthand how generous they are, but hopefully they’ll give you something!

Anyone else waiting for an acceptance package by USPS mail? GW does send them, right? Thanks.

yepp still waiting for an acceptance package

Good Luck to those who haven’t received their acceptance packages yet. You will be fine. They should be coming out this week. I remember getting mines and my mom like, “WOW! This is nice. But you still can’t go there. Too expensive.” Fortunately, I got a decent FA package.

For those who got the packet, what was the postmark date?

I’m pretty sure you can view your FA package online.

You can, but you need a special 8-digit ID number to log in. I have no idea where to get mine so I’m assuming it’s in the acceptance letter.

We still have not received acceptance package, but can still view the FA online. The 8 digit # is the one that was assigned to you at the beginning of the application process. It starts with a G.

The 8-digit number that you all are talking about is called the GWid. It’s an identification number that will need to access your transcripts, pay your tuition, etc.

yeah what’s the website?

I’m not at computer now …so let me try and remember how I got to the website.
Log in to your reg. admission portal
Click on application status
Below your decision there should be a link for "freshman day "
Click on that link
Click on facts and figures link
It’s one of the links on the left then. Towards the bottom, I think. It might be called Info or something like that.

Sorry I can’t be more specific. If you can’t find it still, let me know.

I was wait listed… It was my number 2, but since my top choice didn’t work out as I had hoped it’s now my number 1. So, I only have 3.5 GPA, but i go to one of the best public schools in the country. Unfortunately I think my SATs are what really brought me down I got an 1800; however, I have extensive extracurriculars from year round varsity sports to constant volunteering. FInally, I have also showed a lot of interest in the school, I visited twice and did an overnight (on election day, it was like the best night of my life). I really hope they take me off of their wait list!

I found the place where the financial aid should be listed and the Gwid number, but my D has no memory of a 6 digit pin.

Try her MMDDYY birthday?

So will the ID number be on emails from the admissions office or something?

The id number was in an email that thanked for submitting the application and requesting that she log in and verify her information using her GWID which was included as a reminder. So she must have gotten it earlier. We always logged into the activity center woth email and password, so I am confused why we are asked to use the GWID. MMDDYY wont work because it needs letters as well.

I found my GWID in am email after I submitted my applicate titled “Regarding you application to The George Washington University.”

The GWID starts with G and is followed by 8 numbers.

You can go here to view your financial information: [View Your Financial Aid | Admitted Students | The George Washington University](http://freshmen.admissions.gwu.edu/view-your-financial-aid-0)

It has instructions on where to go from there and your pin number.
