I really think that they are offering the "best of the best" offers today. The girl I knew was "supposed" to get into every school. Perfect stats (I mean perfect), great EC's /leadership, great writer. They probably haven't finished going through everyone yet, and I'm assuming that the regional directors gave these special students priority.

My guess is on Friday, they'll release everyone else.

It looks like adcoms are giving out different info to people who call. One poster said no calls until end of week then 3 other posters say they have been accepted already???? It'll be interesting to see how many are "actually" going to be accepted off the waitlist. 150-175 seems like so many.

is it a bad sign if I e-mailed my regional rep (got the name from an admitted kid) and i got an auto-response saying that he was out of town and won't be checking e-mail very often until the end of the week? are all regional reps supposed to be in committees now to decide who to take off the list, or are some actually not on campus/on vacation? i don't want that last email to be a waste.

What if they cannot reach you by phone? Will they still send you a package? Do they even send e-mails at all to notify students or only via the phone?

Congratulations to those admitted!
And a question: how much time were you given to think?
Trying to guess when they will start adding new names instead of those who rejected the offer, and to understand how long should we expect this to go.
By the way, according to today's info the yield from waitlist is definitely not even close to 100%.

Yes, mothers are working in order to pay for Harvard.
No, I haven't spoken to anyone. Just from today's discussion here I understood that not everyone is accepting.

Wow. I do not know what to say to that...except wow......gives us all a better chance. If I do not get into Harvard via waitlist, I will be fine because I am already grateful to be off of Columbia's. :D But a Harvard acceptance would be a nice cherry on top.

My son got accepted off the waitlist last night.

An admissions officer had called my son during the day and left a message on his cell. He called back in the afternoon and left a message to call him back at home. They called yesterday evening at home.
