Official Harvard Fall 2014 Transfer Discussion Thread

Before I login to anything can you two tell me what exactly that is? I thought they didn’t post decisions online? So any information on that module may not even be accurate or updated.

it looks like decision to me…

https://admapp.admissions.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html

“All decisions will be emailed to the email address provided on your application form. We do not post our admissions decisions online.”

I am so confused. They said they don’t post their decisions online, but that link above also looked like a decision. However, I am skeptical as to the short rejection letter (not even a letter, really). I don’t think that was the official decision…

“I am skeptical as to the short rejection letter (not even a letter, really).”

I don’t need a long letter. This “you’re excellent and we’re very sorry not to offer you admission” junk most schools write over an entire A4 page sounds like mockery in my ears. If you don’t offer me admission, I’m not good enough and I know it. There’s no need to taunt me further. Just tell me: admitted/not admitted which the above accomplishes well enough.

For all interested, this is what the login says:

Welcome 314159265359!

Thank you for your interest in and application to Harvard College. Unfortunately, the Admissions Committee is not able to offer you a place in the class, but we wish you every future success.

Name: 314159265359

Applicant Type: Transfer

Phone: 314159265359

Email: 314159265359@314159265359.com

I am confused too. Perhaps they just upgrade the database and start to input the admission status, so they say they don’t post them online. But of course we know nothing about Harvard.

Despite it is hard to accept the result, but I think this is their final decision.

I know it’s hard to accept it

I suppose the official email will be sent today, if they have already updated all people’s admission data.

I called the Admissions Office, and they said decisions will for sure be released tomorrow. Does anyone have something besides a rejection in their portal?

I’m still getting the default screen.

@KingofSweden‌ did you ask what the portal was all about?

This sucks guys! I haven’t gather the courage to sign in in the link provided by @314159265359. Expecting the worst though, but at least we tried! Better to try and fail than to fail to try! Best of luck to all of you wherever you go!

Yes At least we tried

The admissions committee said that nothing we see online is final nor valid. wait for the decision to be mailed to you.

When I go to log in to that link it recognizes me but does not have a decision button.

so was it just a glitch? I checked again and my rejection letter disappeared, it just talks about my application status… wait now the page doesn’t even exist! I get directed to an admissions page about general info.

Yup, my rejection disappeared too. For now. It now says that I can check the status of my application, edit contact info and stuff like this. They probably shut it down because of this thread haha. I don’t get why they make such a big deal out of it. So we’ve seen our decisions a few days before the email. No harm done.

Does anyone know what time we should be expecting the email tomorrow?

just got rejected from Yale…an acceptance from Harvard seems impossible now…
