My interviewer didn’t really talk much about admissions, my chance, my personality, or much else. He asked my parents profession which I felt awkward saying so I appeared to be stupid by hesitating and saying I don’t really know. My dad didn’t want people to judge me based on his occupation, don’t ask me. Then he basically asked me questions for like 20 minutes and for 40 I asked him. Then it came to an awkward silence and he said good luck and rushed out. I think my interview was awful.

***change wait listed to deferred! (only 6 more days) fingers crossed

1. We didn’t talk much about admissions though, mostly just random stuff.

BTW, hey there other smiley!

@GordonTheGekko: Your post definitely helped ease some of my anxieties!

@leighearth: There is a parent’s Harvard thread–find it as a reference. It will have information for parents who “want to know what they are getting themselves into” from parents of actual undergrads. I also advise you to stop looking for all the negatives about Harvard…it’s probably making the decision to apply more stressful.

Ok guys, it’s been fun and frightening, but now I must bid adieu. This is really too much stress… I’m going to try to keep myself off of CC. See you all on the 15th when we post decisions. Don’t forget the pledge.

what does it mean when they say I wish you the best of luck??

I think I agree with sebelius. Reading about ED acceptances to Penn and WUSTL on Facebook is too much for me, forget about reading the depressing stats on the UPenn or Columbia or Cornell or Stanford threads. It wouldn’t actually be a big deal for us to wait until next week, but now that some people know, especially at schools where I’m also applying, I think I’m going crazy.

My dad is excited about my rolling safety acceptance though because he went to grad school there, so thats extra-sweet and nice.

Whatever happens, good luck! And remember, it works out in the end.

Story time: Someone I know applied Yale SCEA, got deferred, and was eventually rejected. However, in the mean time she applied to Harvard just like that, even though it wasn’t on her initial list, got in, and is there right now.

I think I might die from anxiety anyways.

Also jumping ship until the 15th. Time to defuse. I’m going to enjoy some J-pop and go to bed early for the next week or so :3

So how about my mom is going to hide my admissions letter. I’m not getting an email, so I was going to only get it in the mail. She told me that I “would not be the first to know.” Why?!

Someone I know got accepted into Stanford today and his essay was in a form of a crossword puzzle…anyone else have something creative?

@leighearth: I’ll certainly ask them about the articles, too, and let you know when I get their replies.

^ I think that’s pretty standard. I wouldn’t worry about it.

High school drama: the worst thing you will have to deal with in your entire life.

Oh just one more thing - can’t believe its time to change the password to my email address so my parents don’t see it before I do!

@perry772: I am pretty sure that Yale fans wont even be THAT childish. LOL

You can still change your decision by e-mail preference, you know?

The website [Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Early Action](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/early.html) says that the decisions come “around December 15” and an ‘invitation’ letter that Harvard, along with numerous other colleges, sends to any and all prospective applicants says, “Early Action candidates apply by November 1 and receive notification by December 15.”

The wording makes me question if the university sends out acceptances a bit earlier than all other notifications because “around” and “by” do not mean solely on December 15.

I believe that decisions will be e-mailed on the 15th at 5:00 PM.

[Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Application Timeline](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/timeline.html)

The timeline confirms the former part of that statement, and if you peruse the site enough the latter is sure to appear. Best of luck to all of you!

I just cannot stand this waiting any more!! If I should be rejected I have already been rejected now and they should send the rejection right away! T_T

I really wish when I open my eyes from sleep I realize IT’S ALREADY THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Fret fret fret fret fret…>_<

Straight off Harvard’s website: “Early Action Decision emails will be sent on Thursday, December 15th after 5pm (ET).”

[Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Email Notification of Decisions](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/email.html)

@Solowhale: Yess! Can I have a time machine, a sleeping potion, anything that will get me to 12/15 fast please??

We need to hang on, and those of us who have not fully completed their RD applications must do our best to forget Harvard and prepare the rest for the likely scenario of not being accepted. points to self
