AleaJactaEst, Paris France
Everyone else (add your names)

all the chinese peeps^

@EnglishRower: I’m a lightweight :slight_smile: but unfortunately, my coach tells me I’m not tall enough to be recruited into an ivy :(… oh well
I’m a permanent resident so I guess I’m not an international??
Aside from all this college stuff, I have a fun (sort of) question for you. I like to talk in English accent all the time and so do most of my friends. Do English people sit around mimicking American accent?

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE XD I can remember the tension
Don’t worry if you don’t get in… the best trait of a real prospective Harvard Student is his or her ability to succeed anywhere he or she ends up!!! GOOD LUCK XD

There we go!

"International EA Applicants to Harvard:

@kentawata
REPPIN’ the japanese(:

i wonder how many japanese kids get in every year…
i wish we weren’t categorized as ‘asian’ because im pretty sure theres only a couple of japanese that apply, compared to the rest of the asian population.

Who else is from Tejas!!!???

Question: does Harvard consider your race more or your country of residence more? What about citizenship?

I don’t think citizenship matters; however, country of residence and race are important factors in achieving diversity. It depends on how long you’ve lived in your country of residence, and its racial homogeneity. On their website, they break down their student body by race, so it follows that perhaps race is the more important factor.

On another note, there’s 4 days, 23 hours, 41 minutes, and 45 seconds left.

@RarissimaAvis, I had to research your question months ago. If you have your green card, you’re not an international. I just got mine after 8 years, so even though I had been living here for almost a decade, I would have been counted as an international applicant. D:

I hope you have your green card!

Harvard(like most schools) has two applicant pools: one for internationals and one for US citizens/permanent residents.

@power4good: What I said was in the context of international admissions. collegeinfo1994 made a good point about distinguishing between U.S. and international applicants.

But in terms of being an international applicant, I don’t think country of residence matters as much as ethnicity does.

On their website, the student body is categorized geographically as from different regions in the U.S. or as an international student. There’s no specification as to country of residence. They also categorize by ethnicity.

Does anyone know the time on the 15th that we get the email from harvard with their decision?

Also, the physical mail letter is sent on the 15th right? So chances are most of us will only receive it on the 16th or 17th in mail?

I believe it was said earlier on the thread that the letter is mailed on the 14th. So, it comes by Monday the 18th. And the email comes after 5 PM on the 15th, Eastern Time.

@collegeinfo: thanks for the clarification!

@FlamingMango: It’s officially 5 PM but some receive it an hour or two later. Yes, to the physical letter question.

@TheRealFake: I think it’s the 15th because I would then receive the mail before the email if it was sent on the 14th.

Wait, if they mail out letters on the 14th, why would they delay decision releases via email until the 15th?

I’m from New Zealand, where there is a considerable lack of interest in America. At the October SAT exam centre ten students showed up, all of whom Asian (probably international students). I was the only kiwi guy there. The anti-Americanism sentiment in New Zealand is staggering.

Anyway, International EA Applicants to Harvard:

persman, Wellington, New Zealand

@RarissimaAvis: I just read somewhere on an earlier page it would be the 14th. You get mail that quickly?

someone else who was applying told me it was the 14th at around 6 pm, eastern time. :/
