and to you guys too! do you live in USA or in Japan, and what’s your concentration?
btw I am a domestic applicant

who’s not going to go on CC anymore after figuring out what college they’re going to? this kid. Well, just until i start studying for the MCAT’s…

Since everyone’s discussing their location/nationality, I’m curious: anyone else from Massachusetts?

Also, good luck to all of you :3 I feel like I’m really late to the party by only joining the discussion now, but I’ve been creepin’ on this thread for a while and you all sound like fantastic people.

@strangecharm
I’m from MA :)

@kentawata
I’ve lived in the US for quite some time, but my greencard doesn’t get issued until next year so I had to apply as an international applicant.
I’m thinking about concentrating in government or east asian studies.
what do you want to concentrate in?

But it’s so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy’s? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. Because iocane comes from Australia, as everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled with criminals, and criminals are used to having people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. And you must have suspected I would have known the powder’s origin, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you? You’ve beaten my giant, which means you’re exceptionally strong, so you could’ve put the poison in your own goblet, trusting on your strength to save you, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But, you’ve also bested my Spaniard, which means you must have studied, and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me."

Thank you for your response! I have a green card so I apply as a domestic applicant. And I chose mathematics as my concentration.

@strangecharm
I’m from NJ. I’m sure there are a bunch of ppl who apply from here…

@strangecharm- I’m also from Massachusetts If you don’t mind, what part are you from?

It’s interesting how the majority of applicants who are following this thread are in the international pool. Or so it seems…

@moonlight: The admissions officer who answered the phone actually confirmed that Harvard received my arts supplement. At that time, one of my required recommendations was missing and the guy asked if my additional rec was a teacher rec. I sent my arts supplement along with my additional rec so I’m sure they received it.
But it seems like they only confirm it indirectly/accidentally, though.

@iamthedoctor I’m from Central MA (45ish minutes west of Boston). Also, if your username is in fact a Doctor Who reference, I might just be in love with you.

@iamthedoctor Where are you from? (got so excited about your username that I forgot to ask…)

@strangecharm Please tell me that your username is a reference to quarks.

It is! Haha completely understandable. I’m actually from the Cape.

I’m from WV. Hopefully that helps :D

@sebelius It is! Glad someone noticed, haha.

@iamthedoctor You are officially wonderful. And the Cape is beautiful :)

What did you both put for your intended concentrations?

I’m from Houston, TX! But here is a question to lightened the mood: How is the social life at Harvard from what you have heard?

@Billyshakes93, kentawata
I am domestic, I have a green card. I wasn’t expecting so many Japanese applicants either; I heard there were like seven Japanese undergrads right now.

haha thanks! you too (for recognizing). I put biology, even though I realize they certainly don’t have a shortage of those. I just can’t see myself doing anything else.

@light shining
When I heard about the number of Japanese undergrads in Harvard, it was 4 or 5. so at least it’s increasing by a bit but definitely very few. I hope we all get in so we can meet at the campus.
