Alright, I have to contact Harvard about my optional rec and research supplement. Since the online form to contact the file room always returns automated responses, do you guys think I can just call the general admissions office phone number? I just don’t want to get deferred and wonder if it’s because they lost my extra stuff…

^^Yeah I want to ask about my supplemental rec as well. Do a lot of people do that?

When I first applied to Harvard it took them 2 or 3 days to email me asking me for an interview. And a day later someone called me asking. I didn’t think it was that special until my teachers went ballistic because I didn’t tell them prior. I usually do things myself. I think it went really well and one of my interviewers told me I was going to like Harvard lol but I’m really anxious to receive the decision on the 13th. Good Luck to everyone who applied and I hope the best of us gets accepted. We deserve it!!

I haven’t yet been contacted for an interview and I submitted everything mid October. Is anyone else in the same situation? And anyone planning to contact Harvard about it / anyone already contact Harvard about it?

I was actually just contacted yesterday about an interview! (I’m a domestic applicant, submitted app late October)

I submitted mid-October and was contacted two weeks later. For those

of you that haven’t been contacted yet, if you live in a rural area, I wouldn’t worry. If you don’t, I wouldn’t worry either because maybe all the interviewers are busy.

Countdown: 18 days!

P.S. I lol’d at “The College Games” video.

@Fantasmicall

I’m in the exact same situation - submitted October 15th, and nothing yet. I’m not in a rural area, and ll of my friends at nearby schools have gotten interviews, but none of the other three applicants (who submitted more or less the same time as I did) from my school has received one yet. Really, though, I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. We’ll wait this out!

For all the people who want to contact the Admissions Office about a supplemental rec, chances are they’ll tell you that they’re unable to share that information with you since it would take time to retrieve your file out of so many applicants to check if it’s there.

It happened to me, and I called them last week Tuesday.

Does anyone know if we hear back on December 13th or December 15th? The admissions office tells me the 15th, but the Applicant Status Portal closes on the 13th.

Also the 15th is a Saturday meanwhile the 13th is a Thursday (Last year December 15th was on a Thursday).

it’s the 13th. did you call the admission office and they told you it’s the 15th? or did their website say it’s the 15th?

I think they’ll try and send the email on the 13th since it is a thursday for one, and because they put that date on their website as the email notification date.

I also sent in an arts supplement to Harvard via priority mail, so I know that its in cambridge at Harvard where it needs to be, other then that its up to them to file it. I’m sure they’re really methodical and careful when they file extra materials (this isn’t their first time) so I wouldn’t worry too much about if they’ve lost the materials etc. But if it makes you feel better, you can go ahead and call them.

So how are all of your other apps/supplements going? The Jan 1 deadline for other schools is approaching pretty quickly. I’m going to prepare everything before Dec 13, and if (when) I’m deferred/rejected to H then I’ll just send them all the next day.

I called the Admissions Office and the woman told me the 15th…but I was a bit skeptical about her response.

I think December 15th has been a pretty standard date for most colleges. When I traveled to another college to and they said students get a response for ED on the 15th, I let them know it was a Saturday and then they were a bit stunned haha.

haha that’s funny!

I’m sending in my Stanford regular decision app next wednesday (arts supplement), I already sent in my UCLA UC Berkeley app.

I’m trying to get in my regular decision apps in asap just so I don’t have to worry about them later on.

My Stanford app is complete, I just can’t seem to click “Submit” for some reason haha.

And I went back a couple of pages on this thread to see that a CC’er found proof that it’s December 13th ([Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Freshman Application Process](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/index.html))

I cannot even think about what to write for two of my Stanford essays (the roommate one and the “what matters to you?” one). Hopefully I’ll do them and a couple others within the next few weeks :)

The “future roommate” and the "intellectual experience are stumping me because I can’t seem to figure out the angle I want to write with! I have the “what matters to you” done though!
