Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2017

I can login too…
I can’t believe they’re out in less than 48 hours. So nervous :/

Lol obviously I know there is a difference between 2300 and 2400. But the fact of the matter is…anyone who gets <2300, can get a 24. Maybe they were just having a bad day or there was that one word they didnt know - but the point is after a certain point…every score just becomes a score. Suddenly most weight is tipped toward essays and EC’s. if the admissions process was quantified…every 22-24 would be getting in. The fact is, numbers are just numbers after a few rounds of decision making. They want a personality.

LOL…i put a countdown in my phone.

By the way, for anyone who was wondering about logging in and seeing if you were deferred, Harvard is shutting down the online portal for early applicants tonight:

"Services available for:

 • Early Action applicants: October 3 to December 11** "

@chico94 The point of the possible exploit was that, if an applicant was deferred, he or she would then be considered a regular applicant. He/she would have to eventually be able to log back on to the portal again. The question is when would he/she be able to. If it were to take effect immediately, those applicants that were accepted/rejected would no longer be able to log onto the portal tonight while those that were deferred would be able to.

I’m freaking out right now. I can’t even function. Less than 48 more hours!

I’m trying to compile a list of songs I should listen to if I’m rejected/deferred. “In The End” by Lincoln Park is definitely on my list.

Best of luck, Harvardies! :D

“In The End.” Yes.

Trying to hang in there and study for finals…

You guys are really lucky if you have a light workload. I’ve had it with phospholipid bilayers and Italian unification -_- This is not the time!

Although I am happy I’m Canadian. We don’t really get this whole standardized test thing, honestly. I took my SATs in grade 9 and got a 2250 and then it was always too much of a bother to retake. Any other international students who just really can’t sympathise with the SAT phenomenon?

The fact that you got a 2250 your first time in the ninth grade is incredible. I don’t know whether to praise the Canadian education system or to be horrified at America’s, or maybe you’re just a good test taker lol.

^It is extremely good, but I’m from the US and got a 2150 freshman year (but I did retake junior year) and I have heard of others doing very well at pretty young ages

Does the grade at which you take the SATs affect the adcoms’ opinions of you at all? Or are they ambivalent about the number of times and year when you took them? (For example, 2200+, first sitting, freshman/sophomore year vs. 2300+, third/fourth time, senior year?) I know that score choice can hide a lot of things as well, but…

@Indigo Haha I don’t even know, it’s probably a little of all three plus a bit of fluke. I just had to sort of blindly hope they would see the test date and that I would at least get an “oh, I see.”

Can it just be Thursday already?

Can someone please try to log-in to their Status page to see what happens?

I can still get on

I just stayed logged in. I logged in an hour ago and just kept the page refreshed every ten minutes. I’m still logged in after refreshing a minute ago. Nothing too exciting.

edit: i put in the wrong PIN >.< #embarrassing

still works…

Hm still works. Maybe it takes a while to get through everyone. Will try again in the morning!

still working here as well. Maybe give it another 5 minutes? It’d be hard to shut down more than 4000 accounts all at once…
