Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2017

we probably have better things to do tonight.

Something called sleep :)

I can see how freaked out we’ll get as time approaches 5PM on Thursday.

Mine still works as of 0:07. It says early still and I can click on the change email button and nothing is greyed out. I have not actually attempted to change email.

An interesting thing is in the new wording. It says that:

Early Action applicants: October 3 to December 11**

**Early action applicants may request their decision via email until midnight EST on Tuesday, December 11th. All email address changes must be completed by December 11th at midnight as well.

So maybe they aren’t going to take down the portal, they just don’t want you to change email stuff.

Also, I live in Calif. so it’s only 9pm for me. Do not need to sleep yet. Although, dat homework.

the website’s fooling with me.

why is it letting me in now?

Still logged in. Hasn’t kicked me out yet.

I think it will probably kick us out during the server maintenance at 4:30am eastern. I’m not staying up for that, so I guess we’ll see tomorrow.

Server maintenance ends in about an hour, so we’ll see.

Server maintenance is over and I can still log in. Still listed as Early Action. Still could in theory change me email (although I did non attempt).

This applicant status thing really does not mean much. The class of 2016 had the same mindset last year, and they only shut it down 24 hours before the decisions were released.

"Thank you for your interest in Harvard College and your participation in the Class of 2016 early action admission process. We do not post our early action admissions decisions online.

Early action admission decision letters will be sent Thursday morning, December 15, 2011.
E-mail decisions will be sent to the address on record Thursday afternoon
at 5:00 pm EST.

Current regular decision and transfer applicants please note: application status checking will resume the morning of December 17, 2011."

It would seem that all EA applicants gets this message. Your ability to log in/not log in does not indicate anything. Chill out…

Yeah, it seems my theory won’t work. I can still log in, status is still “early”, and Harvard admissions is smarter than a bunch of high school seniors.

33 hours!

The Admitted Student website is up. Just wondering if it worked for anyone, or if it is just up but not unlocked for admitted students. I figured someone on CC will be admitted, and maybe if it is up it will work for them? I’m pretty sure I’m deferred.

JellyDuck made a good point regarding this:

“This applicant status thing really does not mean much. The class of 2016 had the same mindset last year, and they only shut it down 24 hours before the decisions were released.”

I think everyone’s is still up. Don’t worry about it too much. (Though I probably still will anyways. )
Good luck.

Just to clarify, I’m pretty confident that they will shut down the entire applicant status website for all candidates (including RD) for around 3 days. So everybody, whether they have been deferred/accepted/rejected/RD, will be unable to access their applicant status website until around 2 days after SCEA results are released.

Good luck to everybody!!

The application status page still works for me (and says early) but the admitted students website (where you go after getting an acceptance email) is also available too. I was wondering whether it has been activated for anyone to log in, or if they just have the page up with the spaces to attempt to log in even though the site is really shut down. Check it out by clicking on the “admitted students” link under “more information” while on the status page.

Here’s the status check: https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html</a></p>

I think speculating on changes to Harvard’s website isn’t going to get anybody anywhere. These speculations tend to make people more nervous than they should be. Decisions have been made, results come out tomorrow… Applicants will never know until the emails have been sent.

I know, I’m part of the problem, not the solution :frowning: I was only wondering because I found it odd that they would have the site up before decisions were sent (and possibly cause anxiety like I have). I don’t honestly think it means anything, just that they have the servers ready to go (but curiousity killed the cat for me). I’m actually surprised they didn’t shut down the actual status check. What’s the point of having it up now, when no changes can be made?

I was wondering the same thing…what does it say for everyone when they try to log into the admitted students website?

Admitted Student Website
The Admitted Students Website is accessible only to students admitted to the Class of 2013.

Try this [Harvard College Admissions § Application Status Login](http://collegeadmissions.fas.harvard.edu/admitted/login.cgi)

I have two questions.

1) Does the Admitted Student Website work for somebody from CC with their Access code?
2) I think we can send them a Request Code using this web page https://admapp.admissions.fas.harvard.edu/hanevo/accepted/forgotAccessCode.do</a> but I don’t have the courage to test it.

OMG guys just wait one more day! This isn’t gonna get you anywhere. We’ve waited for a month and a half, I think we can make it through 30 hours lol.
