Trixee15: I haven't received by PIN either, and I'm applying for transfer as well. I think we should wait a couple more days :)

If you e-mail

admpin@fas.harvard.edu

with "Access Code (PIN) Request"

in the subject line, and your full name only in the body,

it will give you an automatic response with your PIN.

However, it says that they don't have anything received, so I guess

it's still not processed..

supposedly the process works like this (i heard from a friend who's sister is an adcom).

out of 50 kids, they take say...5-10 athletes. that leaves 40 spots. out of those 40 they take a few kids that have connections with faculty, etc. that leaves 30 (i'm being pessimistic here).

So out of that 30, they accept based on unique majors like NELC, Celtic Studies etc. They take maybe 1-2 kids out of every "unique" major, leaving the big majors (e.g. gov, Eco, bio) with maybe 5 kids each.

So, if you have a unique major, usually around 30-40 in the nation apply for it. If you have a popular major like Gov, Econ, maybe 100 kids apply for it.

That's what I HEARD anyway. Not sure if this is tru.e

Where did you hear that?

read the post again

somebody's reading comprehension is not exactly intact...

hahaha oh my gosh...I am totally out of it. Sorry that was way dumb.

has anyone else been contacted yet? i want to make sure they have all of my stuff..

bump john harvard

This thread can't by dying!

How is the wait going for everyone?

sucking. how was your why transfer essay? did you focus on a specific major or harvard's core?

I can't remember exactly what I wrote...It was so long ago, and I've filled out more applications since then that it's one big blur. But basically I said that there is a lack of motivation to excel...as far as the environment goes..and I'm looking to transfer to a school (Harvard) where I can immerse myself in an environment of students that are driven and passionate. Plus I'm transferring from a CC so there I can't really take more than two years...I just said that I'm ready to take the next step in my education.

Plus New Mexico is like...the 48th worst state in education. lol What did you write about?

my school is known only for business, engineering, and sciences, and I dropped business and i'm not interested in the sciences. my lit class got me interested in near eastern languages and civs, and harvard's one of like...four schools that offer the major. i don't know if that's a legit reason :(
