university of texas. nowhere fancy :D i'm looking for a good Near eastern language and civilization program

Cool! A fellow Southwestern (<--sort of) applicant. Man that application really took some work! lol...did you list the other schools you are applying to in the "Alternatives to transferring to Harvard section?"

yeah, middlebury, swartmore, stanford, upenn. that took a lot of work, not gonna lie. how long was your "why transfer" essay?

580 words, was not sure if they had a maximum in mind.

333 words for me.....lucky number. lol.

damn. mines like 780 words lol

wow that's a lot...lol.

Mine is pretty concise and down to the point. You must have many reasons for wanting to transfer! lol

nah, just elaborating on one reason

Phew...just submitted my application. Here's to hoping for the best! Good luck to everyone.

boy, finally done with this@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

It's over. I'm a golden opportunity, Harvard. Don't pass me up!

Me too. I've only just submitted before midnight.

still crossing her fingers Even after 24 hours, I cannot forget that moment I hit the submit button.

Once you've submitted the whole thing, the best course of action would be to forget about the whole thing. It applies generally to all college applications, but even more so in this case of Harvard. It's over, it's done. There's nothing more to do about it now except for sending in the appropriate documents, so just forget about it. Time will pass by a lot quicker that way.

what'd ya'll talk about in your why transfer essay? i just talked about my academic reason

So did I.
I don't much care if I get in though. Harvard is not the only choice anyway. Frankly, I don't want to leave NYC...

shucks! i realized there are three mistakes (not fatal mistakes, but quite important) in my entire app, all at different places.

should i send an email to harvard to request to make changes to the app, or would this only bug them further?

if so, whom should i send the email to?

by when should i send in the appropriate documents?

dont bother them, they'll be annoyed

golden_vein: I'm still thinking about the moment I hit the submit button...it's crazy...I feel different kind of.

In my essay I wrote about the education and lack of motivation in New Mexico and what kind of an education I seek that I'm not finding here. etc...we'll see what happens...I can't believe we have to wait until the end of May! :(

I wrote about my poor high school record and my extended gap in education. The causes, (undiagnosed depression), the overcoming of adversity, etc... I know that the supplement has a place to address any gap in education, but I felt like I needed to make a case for myself that incorporated my craptastic early record. So I made that the focus. It's a good read, at least, and doesn't smack of self pity or excuse making. I'm at a CC, so I felt it unnecessary to justify my decision to transfer. Godspeed, little essay.
