Official Harvard Transfer Thread

Jeunatics:"shucks! i realized there are three mistakes (not fatal mistakes, but quite important) in my entire app, all at different places.

should i send an email to harvard to request to make changes to the app, or would this only bug them further?

if so, whom should i send the email to?

by when should i send in the appropriate documents?"

Don't worry. E-mail the changes to adm-tran@fas.harvard.edu.

Good luck all you guys on your application.

I've submitted mine too, and I decided not to care about it till the results

are out.

are admissions rolling?

no, they are not.

Did you arrange to have your HS transcript sent directly to the admissions office? I didn't because the instructions states: "An official high school transcript and official test results must accompany the transfer application and supplement or be sent to the office of transfer admissions."

I had my GED scores sent separately because I was home schooled.

is everyone here a soph xfer?

no, i'm a junior transfer :)

it's harder to get in as a soph transfer, right? how many spots are alloted for each class?

i'm a junior transfer

does anyone know how to check your credentials with the admissions office to make sure they've received everything? can this be done online, or is there a number to call?

from the harvard website:

In transfer admissions, do sophs. compete with sophs. and juniors w/ juniors, or does everyone compete in one large applicant pool?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself! I'm also applying to Harvard for Fall 2008 Transfer!

Currently at Yale
4.0 GPA
2380 SAT
800, 800, 780 SAT IIs

I want to transfer because I NEED To be in a large city!

Harvard isn't exactly in a large city, though Cambridge is located just across the Charles River from Boston.

Harvard is literally minutes away from Boston, and Cam. is much nicer than New Haven!

whats your reason for xfer elijah, jus big city?

Well, in a word, yes. I enjoy Yale, but I just cannot stand not having easy access to a large city. Parts of New Haven are nice, but it is just too small! I belive that I will be much happier in a place that is very close to a large, cosmopolitan place.

are you only applying to harvard? i think they prefer an "Academic" reason, not reasons like that. not to disparage you though; your stats are probably the top .01% of the applicant pool.

Elijah- I thought you were at a large state univ i think i read it somewhere... i might be wrong, tho..
