Hey everyone! So I wasn’t even planning on applying to Harvard because I got a full ride to my local college. But I thought, hey why not? (Also parents are insisting…ah the life)

Well, now I have about 15 days to do EVERYTHING including Common Application. The deadline is January 1st right? Most of you look like you already submitted Is there anyone else like me who is probably going to submit just a few days before the deadline?

ALSO, what did you guys do/are planning to do for the Harvard additional essay?

deferred EA so I’ll be joining this thread I suppose. Though I have literally no expectations of getting in RD since they’ll only accept ~100 of the 3196 highly qualified deferred students time to go write a bunch more supplemental essays, for me since I’m applying to Princeton, Yale, UPenn, Columbia, UChicago, Northwestern, WashU, and UMiami RD. thank god the last two don’t have supplement essays.

@earthdancer7, I saw on their “Harvard Application Tips” that many accepted students don’t write an additional essay. I feel like if I don’t though I will forever blame it on that if I get rejected. So I’m going to try…but I hate that they leave it so ambiguous, we can literally do ANYTHING.

and there’s no word limit… I feel like it may be a trick. Maybe they don’t want you to do it. But who knows :/

And yeah if anyone else hasn’t submitted yet, PLEASE let me know so I don’t die of anxiety. I feel like Harvard might hate me for submitting after the Dec 15th deadline that they “requested”

hi harvardhopeful, dont you worry mate. I havent submitted it yet. Havent even copmpleted yet xD
On the additional essay, im gonna write one, i just havent decided the topic. Ofourse its not necessary, only if you want to tell the adcoms someyhing should you attach it.

P.S. Just to let all of you know. RD is gonna be ubercompetitive, since a lot of SCEA-ers were accepted >.<

DesperateFrench - Im from India, but not your typical Indian student, infact, far from it tbh.

Sorry for asking such a ridiculous question, but how much does one B+ for my first semester hurt me? It’s in AP Calc BC and I’m not intending to be a science major. I took the class online (we don’t offer it at school) and I had a 96 until I recently took a test and got a low F, which brings me to a B+ :(

It sucks because I got deferred and I’m not making my case any stronger by losing my 4.0…

runnerxc - I dont think it would. 4.0’s will not get you in, your personality will, mate. And grades are just a part of the whole pie. Other stuff matters too. So dont stress it, relax. :)

oldfashioned (nice user name btw) - welcome to the club haha. And i thought i was alone xD

Hey ! i’m back (exam week T_T). I haven’t sent any part of my admission yet and I’ll probably finish it the last week of the year .
an honestly, I don’t have any stereotypes (or I can’t remember) about Indians, really LOL

Exam weeks can be hard, especially during this time T_T Hi5! Me too!

Really? Thats the first time Im hearing that
Well usually, people have this image of Indians that they (like Asians) are too focused on Academics and usually lacking in other fields like ECs and sports. My case is entirely opposite haha.
