Official June 2012 ACT thread!

Can someone explain how the writing works?

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Remember, treat it as a game. Earn those points!

DONE! I thought it was a pretty easy test overall!
Prediction:
English: 34-36
Math: 31-34 (guessed on two due to time)
Reading: 34-36
Science: 34-36

Essay: 8-10

Composite: 33-35

I predict:

English: 35-36
Math: 30-34
Reading: 35-36
Science: 33-36

Essay: 9-12 (I’m not sure, never taken the test before.)

Composite: 33-36

someone make a google doc…

Any prediction for the science’ curve?
I think I got -3 on the last passage for sure.
Other than that
35-36 on Math, Science, and Reading, I think.

English - 30
Math - 36
Reading - 30
Science - 28
Composite - 31

I guess i didn’t think it was as easy as it was for everyone else. However i think i got a
30-34-English
31-33-Math
34-36-Reading
32-35-Science
Composite 31-35

My weak point is generally english so it was on par, though i hated the first english question, it was somewhat difficult and i was taken aback. On the math I ran out of time and didn’t circle 4. And their were some weird passages and experiments on reading and science, you had to know some detailed information not provided, like ph acidity and whatnot

The science passages were bad today.

Realistic prediction:
English - 30
Math - 29
Reading - 32
Science - 28

Composite - 30

I just got murdered by this exam. I’m definitely going to have to retake this if I want at least a 27. Lots of blind guessing. Apparently GPA is not a good indicator of a person’s potential ACT score. Or ACT, inc. just wants to make my life complicated.■■■.

Damn that was hard! I was so confident on this test. I thought I could bring over my sat knowledge and all would be good. I didn’t manage to finish a single section. I was hoping to get a 32 or higher. Frankly I’ll be lucky to get 25+

Did anyone else have the experimental section (5 sections total)? I talked to a friend who did the writing section and they skipped it. It seems that nobody has mentioned it

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

I took the 5th test. Mine had math on it, but I guess a couple didn’t. I didn’t try very hard because I figured it wasn’t important. Hope I’m right. Does anyone else have more information on this?

Anyone do the International version?

Prediction:
English - 34-36
Math - 36
Reading 32-34
Science - 34-36

Composite: 34-36 (hoping for a 35+)

I was just wondering, on the math section, the question that asked how long it will take the rocket to reach 32 ft i think? when i did the quadratic i got +1 and +2 and they were both choices i put 1 but i have no clue, anyone care to explain?

I put 1 and some negative number after doing the quadratic equation. I’m pretty sure it was one.

When do we get our results? Do standbys get them at a different time?

Just got back from seeing Prometheus, lol.

Boy, I am VERY happy with how that test turned out today. I think I got very high scores on English, Math, and Reading… Meh on Science, but whatever! And I think my essay was pretty good.

For the rocket question, I definitely got 1 and 2 as an answer as well! I was taken aback by the fact that they were both answer choices. I ending up circling 1 as my answer…

@LGibson1011 It was 1 I think, 2 seconds would have been when the ball was descending, not ascending.
