********Official June 9th 2007 ACT Science Thread********

The title says it all. :)

Science was medium. :|

DO NOT DISCUSS ANY QUESTIONS SINCE YOU ALL SIGNED THE STATEMENT! :)
DO NOT ENDANGER YOUR SCORES!!! :)
YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED!!! :)

Yeah, it was moderate, but LONG! I had to work quickly everywhere, but science I didn't even get to the last 8!

If my science raw score ends up being like 33/40, about what will my score be?

uhhhhhhhh the science was definitally not medium

i thought i had 34+ on all the sections up to the science, but then my drerams were shatered. id be ecstatic if i broke 30 on the science. i dont get it, iv taken multiple AP sciences, but i get raped by that section evvery time i take the test.

Science was brutal.

Definitely! :(

the fire alarm went off during my science section. read my thread. what do i do?

science wasnt as bad as last time i took it (april). i actually ended with extra time this time.

I had taken 4 science practices, and this one was by far the hardest. Some of the experiment descriptions, especially for the conflicting hypothesis one, were confusing.

Guessed on one question; I ran out of time.

i agree. it was awful. i blindly guessed on 4-5. last time i got a 32 on science, this time i'll cry for a 30.

it is always -1 point for each wrong answer?

Jadore_isabella, yes for the raw score; no for the scaled score.
Unfortunately, sometimes a raw score of 39 could be a 34, a 38 could be a 32, and a 37 could be a 30.
Use this for assistance: http://www.actstudent.org/pdf/preparing.pdf

dude science was hella lame. everything was else was easy and then i ended up forgetting to answer 7 questions#!$@#$@#$. assuming i got all 33 that i answered right what score would that be?

aldeswari, 26-28.

Choked hard on this section. :(
I almost thought that there were 40 minutes alloted for this section.

shadow, i don't think the curve has ever been that harsh. the toughest curve is always

40 is a 36
39 is a 35
38 is a 34
37 is a 36

I just looked at that .pdf you have, and i have honestly never seen anything like that. that curve is insane. the questions must have been SOOOO EASY.

the one today was a bit harder than the ones i took for practice, and the practice book had the curve i posted above.

in the ACT prep book the curve is

40 - 36
39 - 34
38 - 32
37 - 30
36 - 29

Was today's test harder than normal?

(I hope)

HECK YES.
In April, it was a breeze for me. I went through it in like 20 minutes and got a decent score, 32. But this time I actually had to keep reading the stuff over and over and I still didn't get it. Don't worry, you're not the only one.

1 question wrong and you lose 2 points? OMFG that is not fair.

not my ACT book. out of the 3 tests, the easiest curve gives a 39 a 36 and a 38 a 35, and the hardest curve is

40

39

38

37

36

definitely is not fair. i'm mad. now i have to take it again.
