Reflection
[] Strengths: Portrayed my love for politics and history well, lots of leadership, great teacher recs and interview. Essay was unique and well-written. Lot’s of AP classes junior and senior years, and straight A’s those years.
[] Weaknesses: I goofed off pretty badly my first two years, I’m behind in math and foreign language, average test scores and sub-par GPA. Didn’t visit.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Because their application process is (supposedly) so holistic, they were able to look past my mediocre objective stats and see how much I’ve progressed since Sophomore year. Also, Boys Nation and debate probably helped :)[/li]General Comments: I’m excited! I wish all of you the best of luck, and encourage future applicants to apply even if their scores aren’t up to par with some of these crazy CCers (haha), because Middlebury truly does looks for the best fit. Not the genius.

To the accepted students, Congratulations! I am sure each of you deserved it.
To others, I am certain that you will have many great acceptances by the time this is all over, if not already.

Yes, they do. On the admitted students page there is a tab listing the materials we will receive in the envelope.

Accepted! Still no time to post an in-depth thing though.

Although, I doubt I’ll be able to attend, because my expected contribution is more than my parent’s salary.

[] Essays: Pretty good
[] Teacher Recommendation: One pretty good, one great (at least I think, but I waived my right)
[] Counselor Rec: Probably very good
[] Additional Rec: None
[] Interview: GREAT! Probably tied with Tufts for my best interview. I think it’s the reason I got in. I’m the first person in at least the last few years according to Naviance, if ever, to get in from my school (granted only 5 others have applied). The only two LACs I applied to were Williams and Midd and I had just visited Williams before my interview and I told her I’d really liked it and regretted only applying to two LACs and she said I’ll write “REALLY wants to go here but can’t visit.” I think I’m out of my LAC phase now, but I’m still very grateful for my interviewer.
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: Nope
[] Intended Major: Chem I think?
[] State (if domestic applicant): NY
[] Country (if international applicant):
[] School Type: Reasonably competitive public

[] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: Didn’t apply for FA
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Scores, GPA, Research, INTERVIEW
[] Weaknesses: Other ECs, nothing super-special about me
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I REALLY THINK MY INTERVIEW HELPED SO MUCH (even though they’re really not supposed to make a huge difference)! I think Midd is hesitant to accept people from my school because they think they won’t attend.
[/ul]General Comments: I got into WashU as well so I guess this will be a tough decision. Well actually, it should be quite easy when I figure out what environment I want… but I haven’t yet XD. I’m kind of leaning toward WashU though, but I will definitely visit Midd now. Congrats to those accepted, to those waitlisted, there is a large chance you will be having my spot, and to those rejected, I’m really sorry but this is NOT a reflection on who you are as a person.

[] Weaknesses: GPA, no sports/music/talent hahahaha, what have you.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Probably the hooks, to be honest and my essay. [/li][/ul]General Comments: Really, really surprised by this. I would just advise other people to apply to the schools that they want no matter what others advise you not to do. Middlebury definitely looks at the person as a whole and just at their transcript.
