Official Morrill Scholars Program Class of 2015

what was the essay question ?

Looks like this thread has gone quiet, but I’ll try anyway. I’m wondering about one of the scholarships for my son. I’d appreciate it if anyone can offer an opinion about his changes -

Top 15% at an OOS competitive high school, 30 ACT (hoping to improve in a couple of weeks), 3.85 UW, 4.2 W GPA, lots of AP, Eagle scout, 3rd degree black belt, editor of literary magazine, award winning musician, …

His diversity, however, is different than any other posts. He’s a white male, but has been involved in the Gay Straight Alliance all through high school and is the president of GSA this, his senior year.

The other posts I read (not that I read all) are ethnically diverse. Any opinions?

Thanks so much

I don’t know much about the Morrill, but looking at their page at OSU is doesn’t specify ethnic diversity specifically. I’d call them- it says they are there 12 months/year.

I cannot find this anywhere! Do you need teacher recommendations for the Morrill?

I’ve been having this problem too! But I don’t think you need recommendations because the website does not say anything about them.

Does anyone on this thread happen to know how my Morrill Prominence Scholarship would be affected should I choose to take one semester off the beginning of Sophomore year? I really want to know if by taking the semester off if I will lose that semester of the scholarship or if it will roll over into the first semester of my 5th year
