**OFFICIAL Mt SAC CC TRANSFER THREAD**

Damn… did he say why??

A horrible incident happened to one of the professor after going on rmp…so they believe it’s Essential to shut it down to prevent any more of their staff getting hurt

wow…***…

did the professor get hurt? this sucks!

Wt%%ffff??? Wowwwwwwwww SMH

You have got to be kidding me… facepalm

Someone needs to rat that professor out. lol This is some BS…

@mamba - i think youre misunderstanding what churroke is trying to say, but then again its not very detailed since that is all he knows. but from what i can interrpret is that im GUESSING a prof hurt him/herself because of the comments. they can get pretty harsh.

or a student could have threatened a profs life/family. either case is a good enough reason to shut rmp down. and if that was the case, im all for it. RMP is just for reference, not for death threats or remarks that would make a prof feel like hurting themselves…yknow? :</p>

it is a shame that such a useful resource is no longer available. but the safety of faculty is much more important.

once you are in honors, you will have no problem of gettin a RMP through asking students haha. trust me…honors students want easy As. so be sure to ask around a lot once ur in honors :)

:( wow… society these days…

sorry my interpretation as a bit vague. But Dainese is right…RMP is just for reference…besides…we have this forum to help each others :)

does getting on the president’s list look good? does it even matter?

sorry, but what is the presidents list?

like deans list?

yeah it’s like the dean’s list but its for when a student has 14+ units per semester & has a 3.5 or higher GPA :o

what about being on the dean’s list? does that look good? :o

im sure both certainly wont hurt your case.
whether or not they look good, i really dont know.
but i would think so cuz it shows consistency and that you work hard.

:)

@ dainese: thanks for ur input!
is this a good idea…:
I REALLY cant handle arch10 anymore ): because I have math110 (stats) to focus on ToT…
so I am really really thinking about dropping arch10… it doesn’t apply to my major/ I don’t need it as a prereq for UCLA or any other school/ I don’t need it for the IGETC…
the only thing that is making me so hesitant about dropping is that 1. Yes I will get a W… <– not sure how UCLA is gonna look at that… 2. it’s a UC transferable course :T 3. I’d only have 11 units for this semester then…
uuggh idk what to do T^T but I really want to drop it!! should I?
thanks in advance~~

^ How bad is arch10? B or C bad? If C… then I would drop…

@sunny - im a bit confused and want to just clarify what you said…

so ARCH10 is not needed for IGETC, but it is UC transferable…so why are you taking it?
if you dont need it, dont take it haha and if you just want to take it for the experience, take it for no credit or pass/no pass.

but back to your questions…UCLA will not drastically care if you have 1 W. if you have 2 or more, then possibly. unless you have extraordinary circumstances (IE: accident/coma/death) as to why you have more than 2 W’s it can hurt your case.

1 W will not hurt you. think about it like a tiny stain on a white shirt. its there but it doesnt really matter.

dont wrry about it being UC transferable if you are dropping it. but if you decide not to, you better make sure that 1. its not going to hurt your grade in that class and 2. its not going to hurt your grades in your other classes such as math110.

if the case is that you believe this course will effect the grades in your other courses and is only bringing you a list of bad things to come, drop it.

if however, you can handle it and believe you can get an A without it effecting your performance in other courses, then keep it.

so its up to you
in short, if it doesnt effect your performance in other classes and you can get an A, keep it

but if it does potentially threaten your other class grades, then drop it.

Hey guys, I just wanted you let you all know that I was able to register for admission for the Winter 2011 term on CCCapply. I thought the registration date was sometime in late November?

I’m not sure if registering for admission ahead of time increases priority for class registration dates or anything but I’m just putting it out there so you all know.

@dainese & blackmamba: omg thank you guys SO much for your replies ;D !
I took it because I was trying to explore architecture :T and cos it would have given me (3) UC credits… And it never occured to me before I registered for it that I would get a bajillion projects to do… sighduck
Yeah I am right about to hit the button to submit the choice of dropping the class because after thinking it over for quite a long time, I feel like continuing to take it would really hurt my grades as I would need to focus on a class I don’t even need= taking time away I could and would use on working on stuff from my other classes :T
I’m so relieved that UCLA won’t be like AAAGWESGDGLAKJSG at me for getting 1 W (<– BETTER be the only W I let myself get D:< !) ToT whew
I guess this teaches me that I have to reeeaaally careful about choosing my classes :open_mouth: ! (duh! DX)
thanks so much again  ~!

My son is a new student at Mt. Sac and took his final for his 8 week spanish class Wednesday. He was wondering when & where he would be notified of his grade? Thank you!

@Lightness: Usually 2 weeks.

@vanquishfire: You dont need to register again haha if you’re already registered for fall.

yup blackmamba covered it all. you only register once lol :D

@sunny - glad you made up your mind! if this happens again with more dire situations and you are in the honors program, consult linda about it if we cant help haha
