@sunny - yea your freaking out haha. you will eventually have to attend an honors orientation which they should send you something about that. or you can just ask someone in the office. and i have no clue about the connect 4 deal, it seems like churroke answered it though thanks

and i doubt youd get first pick, especially for eng 1C, and especially for eng 1CH lol

Hey guys! Okay, let me just specify this, I go to Citrus College (Not 'Sac) but I was thinking we can have a general SGV CC thread since Iām pretty sure not a single other user besides me goes there.

I digress, but I want to bring up this simple question: how do you guys deal with stress/test anxiety/anxiety over grades in general? Iām taking 20 units this semester ( I know, a bit excessive) but I recently took a math test that Iām sure I didnāt do to great in, and all I can think is, well there goes my chance of getting in to UCLA and all these other pessimistic thoughts. The culmination of what I am asking, I suppose, is Am I Alone in feeling this? How do you guys deal with the overwhelming pressure?

@tragic - as my friend always say āstory of my lifeā lol

the stress is overwhelming thats for sureā¦we all go through it. especially since you are taking 20 unitsā¦when i took 5 classes i was dying too.

this is how i somehow managed to cope dont judge me lol!
i know where i stand in each class, down to the smallest percent
i do all my extra credit that way i can atleast have a little to fall back on
give up my some of my social life that way i can better focus on one priority
get the proper amount of sleep
reward myself for good grades (shopping, etc)
constantly remind myself that after this ordeal, i will be one step closer to transferring.
most importantly, make friends who are going through the same thing that way you can vent the exact same problem and reciprocate the exact same feelings lol. it helps A LOT. they will support you, you will support them. misery loves company.

lastlyā¦if you slip up on one test or one class, its fine. one B wont break you. but keeping the attitude that it break you, then it most certainly will. be as positive as you can beā¦it can go a long ways. just dont be naive and ignorant :)

@tragic Iām taking a ridiculous amount of units too, and Iāll have all Aās unless my calc teacher decides to make the final ridiculous. Seriously the only answer to keeping sane is to be really organized and stay ahead of the work.
My student planner is filled with ink, and Iāve got folders and notebooks for every subject. It may sound excessive, but if you can compartmentalize, itās much easier to just get through day by day.

And anyone planning to take Honors in Winter who is not yet in the program, you need to get your work in progress form soon so that youāre on the honors roster before your registration date. Just a heads up! (Registration dates come out on Monday)

Yeah, I guess Iām not that organized. -_- I need to have an actual schedule as far as things like homework and test preperation go, Iām quite sporadic.
Most of the people Iām aquainted with just want to get the bare minimun as far as grades go. A C is good enough to them, but not I just, am a bit of an obsessive work-aholic.

Iāll try to take into account your suggestions. Thanks you guys!

@tragic - yea i hafta agree with jet, my daily planner was literally scribbles of notes/things to do. it was ridiculous lol. i wasnt super organized but i do save all my documents and tests etc. :)
