if things go well on test. I’ll see you in Math 181 :)

@Churroke: Nope, didn’t get waitlisted. None of my friends got a class besides 1 and she’s in choir which gets priority.

@JetLogic: Thanks. I just need to find my AP # now and somehow get a hold of my scores. After I get the sheet from the admissions desk, I simply schedule an appointment and talk to the counselor about my predicament? Thanks.

@ Churroke: Damn you’re jumping from Trig to Calculus 2? lol (If I remember correctly)

@ Jetlogic: Thats a killer load of classes… lol Only 20 spots for 4h… without priority, sh%t is impossible to add or waitlist. :(

@jet - youre a beast lol

who are u taking chin2 with?

Yeah, I should get the first or second day for reg and it might still be hard to get. Some classes fill up just ridiculously fast here.

@ Dainese Chin 2 with D. Wu, schedule doesn’t fit A. Chang again, so I’m hoping Wu is good

MtSAC needs to open up more honor classes. Smh Impossible for freshmen to get without priority.

@jet - i had wu for chinese 2
hes very laid back (a little too much sometimes)
you have to remind him of whats goin on a lot haha
easy A though

he doesnt make you write the words in the back of books
he makes you write words of his choice 10x lol (which can be better or worse depeding on how you see it)

Well that sounds good for me, I’m going to need a little leniency with my other classes :P

@blackmamba yea man! pass the cal placement test…planning to take run around both the science and math building on the first day to get classes…say hi if you see me. :)

hey guys…quick question… if honors classes and regular give the same points on our transcript…it’s not like AP classes in high school.why take honors? It’s more work…what’s the benefit?

@Churroke Are you sure you don’t mean 180 and not 181 if you just passed the placement?
Regarding honors it looks better on transcripts, smarter people in class, scholarship and research opportunities, transfer programs, etc.

@ Churroke: Its math 180 haha since you passed the placement test… I remember you said that you never took trig before? Gluck in 180 haha

And honors is to get TAP certified… completing 6 of them… which gives you priority for UCLA.

@blackmamba thanks for the clarification man. Yea… It’s gonna be tough a 6 weeks. Good luck getting classes too! :)

Wow, without taking trig? In six weeks? Unless you plan to literally learn trig in the few weeks before winter, you’re going to have a really tough time. Half of 180 is working with trig functions, trig inverse functions, trig derivatives and integrals, optimization using angles, related rates using angles, limits of trigonometric functions, and probably more.
I don’t want to discourage you, but trig is a gigantic part of calculus.

@Jet no discouragement…not at all. Thanks for the heads up in fact. I’m gonna go buy that dictionary-like trig book in Barnes&Nobles and study it as much as possible before winter starts. :)

@Churroke, Jet is right. As much as I thought Trig was completely useless in high school… it plays a HUGE role in Calculus… I’d really not recommend jumping straight into it unless you have a tutor who can really help catch you up. The time frame is also very short (6 weeks versus 16?).

And did anyone notice there is no Chem 50H course being offered for the Spring semester? That’s ridiculous…

^ Yes I noticed lol

Its also ridiculous that there’s only 1 bio 4h…

I was really bummed about no Chem 50H, so it’s Phys 4A instead :/

^ Be grateful you can all those other honor classes without any hassle cuz of your priority. lol

@vanquish - yea it can get inconvenient. the reason for it is because they either got budget cuts or theres no prof to teach it.

sucks though… :(

@everyone - study hard, own your finals, and have a happy holiday!
