Okay so i have a lot of questions… But first an overview of my situation i guess? so i am a senior in high school in the second semester and i just finished applying online for the fall 2011 quarter… and now my questions include:

I got an email 2 seconds after submitting my application that I need to prove my state residency. And I know it says as soon as possible but is there a deadline of some sort that I should prove it by?

I play a sport and definitely want to take advantage of priority registration. Any idea on what to do? like how do I let them know I play a sport and want priority registration?

When’s the latest I should complete my assessment tests by?

So I’ve already finished two years of spanish in high school, should I still take a language if I want to get out of there as quick as possible? or actually a better question would be whether or not a language can fit any prereqs i need for transfer?

To get into honors, I’ve heard people say it’s 3.5 cumulative GPA from high school but i’ve also heard it’s 3.5 on your last year/semester of school. It’s the former right?

Any ideas of how many units I need to complete to transfer to Pomona College?

That’s it for now I think… Thanks to anyone responding to these questions! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Does anybody now how hard physics 2AG and 4A/B is? Are any teachers really lenient for physics and who are the easiest and who are the toughest? Also, how much trig is needed for math 180?

@jibarra47 you’ll find all teachers in Physics are tough because Physics requires a lot of studying outside the class, so to ask who’s easier won’t make your life easier.

STUDY: A/B
DON’T STUDY: FAIL (stuck in mt.sac FOREVER)

I would do it asap.

I play a sport and definitely want to take advantage of priority registration. Any idea on what to do? like how do I let them know I play a sport and want priority registration?
Not sure about that one but Im sure you have to try out or something.

When’s the latest I should complete my assessment tests by?
Before your registration date but its still pretty early right now for summer term so I would worry about it now.

So I’ve already finished two years of spanish in high school, should I still take a language if I want to get out of there as quick as possible? or actually a better question would be whether or not a language can fit any prereqs i need for transfer?
If you took 2 yrs in HS, you’re good.

To get into honors, I’ve heard people say it’s 3.5 cumulative GPA from high school but i’ve also heard it’s 3.5 on your last year/semester of school. It’s the former right?
I believe its cumulative.

Any ideas of how many units I need to complete to transfer to Pomona College?
Not sure about that one. Best is to go to pomona college website and look it up.

“The College WILL NOT reinstate classes dropped for nonpayment” - does it mean there WILL NOT be any seats open even if people drop on the drop day?

Wooo I got on the waitlist for the Pre-Cal class I wanted.
Now all I need is for my Physics and Chem waitlists to start moving and all will be right in the world…
:)

@Churroke: Yeah I did. I’m taking him for 150 right now and he’s a pretty cool guy. I’m number 9 on the list so I’m just hoping the line starts moving…

The Physics 4 series is harder than the equivalent UC courses (not including LA and B, obviously). I believe Professor Anderson told me that the pass rate (A, B, C) for 4A was only around 15%, so if you’re trying to get an A in that class, good luck to you. I myself, got a 88% and I worked my ass damn hard for it.

I took the math placement test last summer before Fall sem started, and I took the college level so they gave me the intermediate algeb to take, and I didn’t qualify. I tried taking it again and I still didn’t. I told myself I’ll try again after 3 months but 5 classes got me busy so I didn’t take the math placement test since I had no time… And now it’s almost Spring sem, and I haven’t taken any math courses because of that damn placement test -___- I don’t do good on them… but I had these grades in HS.

Algebra 1: A
Hon. Geometry: A+
Hon. Algebra 2: B
Hon. Pre Cal: A

I talked to a counselor about this in Nov. and she told me to just retake it again, but bleh… Math used to be my fave subject but the placement test took my dignity away x___x

Now, I just got accepted to the Honors Program last week and set an appt. on Tuesday. I wanna ask Mrs. Kuykendall on maybe if I don’t have to take it again… It’s been almost a year since I haven’t solved any math problems so I’m hella rusty. They have my HS transcript, so do you guys think she’ll let me at least be in Math 71?
