@blackmamba ROFL that first response is uncle tom!!

^ Nah its uncle same. Lol I’ve been watching his channel for a couple years now. He’s hilarious.

OH YEAH uncle sam i forgot hahaha uncle tom?! lol damn been a while since I’ve seen that lol

has anyone here taken karelyn hoover? i’m freaking out over her test tomorrow :(

ALMOST 1 year anniversary guys! I just wanna thank everyone here especially Dainese for creating this forum and making our lives much MUCH easier.

never noticed that it was 1 yr already…dang. getting old so fast haha.

cant wait to see where everyone ends up transferring :D

I just got SDSU’s rejection letter =(…They said they had 59,000 applicants who applied and only accepted 6,000…

This is so depressing! This is my 3rd year and I took the “extra” classes just for SDSU…and I don’t need it anymore right now…

ouch…state universities are taking huge budget cuts.

calstates are one of the worse, you will need to fight for it.
I forgot when USC will send out letters but i believe its soon? check out the usc area on this forum.

if you end up having to have no choice but to spend another year at mtsac, just make it as productive as possible in trying to perhaps land an internship, volunteer on something that relates to your major, or try some research.

sorry about that :frowning:
it sucks i know, ive been there. gluck

Hey guys if I drop with a W (this would be my first time), it does not affect my GPA correct? And I can take that class again during summer or fall if I wanted to correct?

it’s not that bad to only have dropped 1 class with a W right?

yup if u drop with a W, doesnt affect anything. just shows a W on your record.
yes you can retake it, and no its not that bad at all :)

life happens :D

ok great, and is English 1A offered during summer or would I have to call and ask or something

that would just depend on what is available, but it usually is. just check the summer catalog when it comes out or if its out. but if you are transferring to USC or considering it, they dont accept ENG1A if you take it in the summer :(

UCs are good though.

this is random, but I realized Mt.SAC is always next to Superarcade, which I sometimes go to…=).

Soooo what schools did everyone get into so far?
Got my UCI acceptance but I tagged into there, just waiting on UCSD now.

Congrats chihigh! What major? Is this your 2nd yr?

So i’ve decided to switch my major from science to film/photography…decided i really want to pursue my passion. I’m currently enrolled in a dual math class program (precal but separated into 2 different classes…precal algebra and trig) I had the intentions of going onto calculus but not anymore since I switched majors. Math is seriously my weak point…i can never get a good grade in math…especially this one cause we go way too fast of a pace. I’m probably getting a C in the first math class (which is about to end) I’m thinking of dropping the second class it takes up way too much time (I work full time and i’m taking chemistry so thats a load already)…and I pretty much don’t need it anymore, but that would leave me with 8 units for the semester. but I figure I can take my time with school and try to improve my grades for my second year and possible an extra semester…cause I feel as if I didn’t do my best. Do you guys think I should take another math class? Maybe like stats or college algebra…cause I’m not sure if that class is even transferrable to some schools(i know for CSUs they are but it is new class so it is under UC credit review…and i have no clue for private schools)

just do the minimum requirements for the school you want to attend. unless your major requires something higher you are wasting your time basically :</p>

and since you’re going into film. i suggest making a strong portfolio ASAP.
being a transfer student is already a huge setback when going into performing arts majors or film since everyone around you is already well orientated on what they wanted to do. and they probably have lengthy portfolios.

and if you took a class that was acceptable for transfer BEFORE the change was made to where it wasnt, you are okay.

ah okay lol. i mean i took transferable classes last semester also but that should count towards some GE credit. I’m guessing next year I’ll start taking some film and photography classes just to get that credit done with. and the portfolio stuff i’m not too worried about i think its pretty strong  I’ve had the intentions of doing film before high school and going to Chapman U for film but financial reasons led me to go to a CC. I was just skeptical about going into that field but I know i found it, by what I’m doing now through my job. I’m tryna go back though cause its so close to home and work since I work full time and I won’t leave anytime soon, so its perfect. (and their programs of study are great haha)

@blackmamba2410
Mechanical Engineering, yes second year.
I don’t have a couple of my pre reqs done otherwise I would’ve applied to UCLA and Berkeley too. 3.75 GPA, counselor told me to wait another year but I just want to leave Mt. Sac already haha, major transferitis right now.
