Thanks for your kind words jennieling, and all the best to your son as well! Letters should arrive today, perhaps?

I just heard today! NMF :)

S13 didn’t officially hear anything. However, the list is posted on the HS website & he is on it. A friend who checks the website daily called us to say congrats.

S13 mentioned that all the NCAA signers have big “CONGRATS” posters around the school. There are about 30 of them. Nothing for the 9 NMFs…(sorry for the vent)

Congratulations to all the NCAA signers AND the NMFs.

Like TTTC, no official word. But, our high school also posted their own list via email newsletter & D is on it. Congrats to all NMFs!

After deferrals at UVA & UNC, this feels good!

I missed it -_- I live in Washington which has a high psat score

S got official finalist letter today from NM…still hasn’t heard from high school.

I got my finalist letter on Saturday! Got a 222 on the PSAT.

Got my letter in the mail today!

We also received our letter in the mail on Saturday. We proud of S. Still nothing from school.

Is this the correct place to ask about selecting a first choice college? We looked at the list & 3 of the 5 schools S applied to are on the list. We’ve narrowed it down to 2 top choices. Is there a way to find out how much $$ we could get if we name a school as #1?

I would check the website of the schools he’s interested. All of the schools my son was interested in outline the scholarships for NM on the financial aid/scholarship portion of the websites. There is also a thread on this board that lists NM awards from different schools. The college websites would have the most up to date info, though.

206 in Oklahoma and I got Finalist. I was thoroughly surprised.

S received letter today confirming he is a finalist - we’re from Idaho.

when do we find out about the small national merit scholarships if we are a finalist? i haven’t heard anything about the scholarships.

March 1 Finalists who have reported a sponsor college as first choice by this date will be included in the first group referred to the institution for scholarship consideration

March 13 NMSC begins mailing corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship offers to winners at their home addresses

March 28 NMSC mails offers of National Merit $2500 Scholarships

May 1 NMSC begins mailing offers of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards

Is this to be the thread for Class of 2014 to post their NMSF notifications too?

I would imagine that someone will start a new thread once semi-finalist notifications start happening.

There is a separate thread for Class of 2014 NMSF cutoffs.

^Yes, but that thread is already quite long and designed for speculation. I would hope there would be a new thread for “official” cut-off scores once they become known. It certainly would be easier for folks to navigate in the future.

Do the national merit scholarship winner get a certificate?
