Except for the price! Aren’t you kinda forced to use up all your need based aid in order to afford that first semester abroad??
Really? @sml1234
Oi guys I got accepted!!
@willt31 Congrats! I read that NUin is like the school thinks you’re good enough, but they don’t want your scores on their record.
@ScaredofSchool I agree McGill is a great school, but it seems so silly to me to pay Northeastern’s tuition to attend McGill (which is of course dramatically cheaper).
@willt31 not necessarily. They wouldn’t accept students if they thought they were bad applicants. That being said, NU.in is a program for students generally with poorer test scores on an otherwise good application. By sending these students abroad first semester, NU doesn’t have to report their scores as a part of their “admitted class profile”, improving our ranking.
Check your application status check! It must be there!
@willt31 Yeah, I’d rather be put in NUin than regular fall.
I loved the idea of nu.in at first but isn’t it so expensive?
Mcgill isn’t that much cheaper if you live in the us
@nico_98 State?
Also because of coop and the experiential learning they have a fluxuating # of students on campus
So six for ny
@novafan1225 haha I think I’m going to Villanova anyway…
But I guess that would make sense - My GPA is on the lower end of things but my ACT is a 33 which is decent.
@asinineayo Not necessarily, but it’s true that NU.in students are not eligible for federal aid during their abroad semester as they aren’t attending schools in the U.S. This can be a dealbreaker for a lot of families financially.
omg if a 33 is “not high enough” im screwed
@novafan1225 Yeah that’s my biggest fear…
The only thing I’m counting on rn are my ethnicity, major, essay, and strong background in my intended major
GPA is out the window lmao
@novafan1225 It’s not a fluke. I clearly stated that my friends (who live in the same state and attend the same school) don’t have results yet. What I got was a rejection letter and I’m going to assume that’s why I’m the only one that saw any change as opposed to my friends who may have gotten different decisions.
@srichter Still no decisions for my friends and we’re all in the same state. I don’t speak for the whole state or the southeast. Good luck though!
Same omg. My GPA is not high but 31 ACT
