@slowrunner7 Regular Fall admit or NU In?
What is the point of the NU.in program and why are some people admitted to that first?
NU In is an alternative freshman entry program. For many offered this option their application didn’t meet the cutoff for regular fall acceptance on the Boston campus. NU In seems to have grown to replace wait listing as very few people indicated that they were waitlisted last year. That said, it is an amazing opportunity for adventurous students to experience a semester in a foreign country. Feedback and retention has been very good. Northeastern now offers the option for Fall Boston admits to do NU In in the Spring semester. That option may grow depending on feedback. The first NU In Spring students are currently studying abroad.
@TomSrOfBoston I saw in another thread that @slowrunner7 got into the NUin program.
Tom Sr. of Boston, Do you know whether NEU looks at financial considerations in choosing NU In candidates? Would they accept someone who applied for financial aid and indicated a substantial need for aid, or would they figure the person couldn’t afford it and offer the place to someone else?
This isn’t a friendly article but it’s worth reading

@jdewey That article has been linked here on CC dozens of times. It is actually not a bad article if you ignore the clickbait title.
@jdewey you are also getting off topic - this is a results thread
sorry folks, it was new to me and it seemed to give some insight regarding the freshman abroad program. I agree it’s off topic from results, my bad
@collegebound232 no merit aid for me, but with 1390 maybe you have a shot at merit aid as long as you have really strong grades and essay. Also, 1390 is above their 25th percentile, so if you have strong grades and essay then it would be pretty surprising if you didn’t get in. @TomSrOfBoston I was accepted to NUin
@collegebound232 but I don’t mean that you should assume that you will get accepted because in many ways it really is a crapshoot if your stats aren’t well above their average
10 days guys!
Why do you say 10 days? It says by april on their site.
Based on past years and EA/ED decisions last December the most likely date for release is Thursday, March 16. And that would be the latest as Admitted Student Days start the week after.
does anyone wanna make a groupme for everyone thats waiting for rd to come out? that way we can comfort each other lmao
Do deferral decisions from EA/ED come out the same time as RD?
^yes
Yes
apparently decisions are coming out the 14th
I thought the 16th
