I’d hope that anyone applying ED has been there haha.

In my opinion the worst thing that would happen- more so than being rejected- is not finding out tomorrow because now Im expecting to find out tomorrow and cant imagine waiting another week! Plus I need time to start the other 10apps that I havent yet. Unlike a lot of you it appears, Im being optimistic that Ill get in. Not necessarily the smartest move but oh well!

I also couldnt wait to get leave UChicago, although the campus was pretty it just didnt vibe with me at all.

So… we are all saying the ninth (and that’s what im hoping for, don’t get me wrong) but is there really no warning. Various ivies and other top tier institutions send out tonight. Could it just pop up in a mailbox? I find that hard to believe, but id rather hear soon. My stats/ECs etc would make me a fairly competitive applicant i would think, but i would almost rather hear soon even if i got rejected just so i could move on. This is killing me guys!

I never visited uchicago, and was unsure, so i had it on my list on commonapp just in case i decided to visit…but the essay prompts turned me away on their supplement. They were ridiculously abstract!

I’m reading old threads and it sounds like certain people in different areas of the country got their decisions around different times (I’m talking a matter of about 30 minutes here, but I know to us that will be a lifetime!)! And it seems pretty random…

So my question is: what are you all going to do to busy yourselves between the time you get out of school until 5 or 6 pm? I have a feeling I’ll be refreshing my email constantly “just in case”, but I was hoping maybe some of you had better and less anxiety attack inducing plans :).

Also, I’m right there with you, ilana26! I’m oddly optimistic, which isn’t good, because then I could be seriously let down tomorrow…what’s worse is that I’ve told almost everyone about NU so people are just “assuming” I’m in. It’s so stressful not knowing yet!

I don’t think last year the time of receipt varied by geography, but some ISPs had blocked the e-mail as SPAM, so someone had to call admissions and have them call ComCast before those came through. If some are slower this year, you all should compare ISPs in case that happens again and you need to contact NU.

Don’t get your hopes up guys. I’ve been e-mailing the University and the last thing the admissions advisor said to me was “ED applicants will be notified of their admissions decision on December 15th (you may see all the deadlines for ED and regular admissions here…” then included a website. It sounds as if they may actually not be ready to release them tomorrow. I hope they do and that this woman is either misinformed or not willing to tell me, but who knows…

A funny side note on U Chicago. My S was interested in UChi on paper, but during NU Family Weekend we went to Second City. About half the audience were lovely sorority girls from NU who were really friendly and beautifully behaved, and then there was a section of quintessentially nerdy kids from UChic who seemed like they didn’t get any of the humor. Even my purposely-geeky S struck UChi from his list and moved NU up. ;-)

i’m not counting on decisions being sent out tomorrow. if yes, then yay! if no, then ah well. i was counting down to the 15th anyway. i’m just trying not to think about it.

the fact that i check this thread every day isn’t helping. but i don’t care, it makes me feel less nervous to know that you guys are all feeling the same thing. it’s impossible to describe, but you guys get it. sigh

ahcollege - NO! D: I’ve mentally prepared myself for the ninth. I can’t take any more waiting. ):

@jen3594 I agree with everything you said 150%
…especially about the decisions coming out tomorrow! I have a countdown going for the 15th! If the decisions come out tomorrow then great. If not, then I mean I will be just a little disappointed but I’d live.

I just wish NU would just flat out tell us when they really plan on releasing them. Or, I should say I wish they kept us more informed of what exactly is going on in their admissions office regarding our applications…sigh

It has to be the ninth
Or else idk

If it doesn’t come out on the ninth then the tension between my email and I will become even worse :D

Anyone willing to call? :)

I called before and they did not give me any date besides the 15th

what’ll even be better is if they came out today :x
along with the other schools :D

Go Bulls you said:
I just wish NU would just flat out tell us when they really plan on releasing them.

Then you said:
I called before and they did not give me any date besides the 15th

Ahcollege said:

Seems pretty clear to me that they have been “flat out” telling you; it’s just not what you want to hear!

Someone from NU also said IT will be before the 15th…

^

If they release on Thurs Fri willll suuuuuuuck for them.

@amtc last year NU stated the 15th throughout the ED process yet they realesed the decisions on the 10th. I’m well aware of what I said. Which is why I then said I wish NU would keep us informed of what is going on in with this process. Next time you should actually read what I said to its entirety before directing comments towards me. Thanks.

Yea i read this from last year’s thread but someone called on the 10th last year asking when they are going to release, then the officer said sometime between then and 15th, and they released the info that night. we never know so hopefully tomorrow
