****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2019 Discussion Thread****

@alafae @gkfc13‌ I scored a 2230, but I don’t think the e-mail means we are already in as I got it in August.

Yeah I got a 34 but I received the email before submitting my application.

Yeah I’m not worried about the email now coz seemingly the dates they sent out were pretty weird. But I didn’t get the Diversity…email? In fact, I got nothing from NU even after I applied, just the email saying what materials are lacking from my app, and then not even a confirmation :(

P.S: Can anyone answer my question?

@alafae‌ you should have gotten a confirmation email.

@gkfc13‌ Well they made a mistake of saying I have missing materials, but I emailed them and they said my application is complete after their confirmation. However, I have yet to get their confirmation of the receipt of my Nov and Oct scores even after I emailed them again.

The same thing happened to me. They said they were missing my scores but then I emailed them saying they should have them and they got back to me the next day. I received my confirmation later on that day. @alafae‌

Weird. Well I sent them an email asking about it already but I guess it’s Thanksgiving holiday? And I’ve sent them my previous scores already, but I really need to confirm their receipt of my new scores because the old ones will get me nowhere. Anyone know when they’ll be back in office?

I think the ACT email is one that given to people who took the Novemeber ACT - like one of those automatic emails that colleges sends to students who reached a certain score

@patrisha727‌ dont think so, becoz some of us got it even before we applied or even in august

@alafae I just sent them an email to see if they received my October ACT scores and the automatic email response said they will be back in the office on Monday :)

@etphonehome2015‌ Great thanks!!

@alafae I’m referring to those emails you would get from hundreds of colleges through the ACT - the type of emails you would get even if you didn’t apply

@patrisha727‌ But then we’ve just proved that some high scorers didn’t get the email too :frowning: Anyways let’s not fuss about this particular email guys…

yeah i feel like we should move on from the email and be confident with our scores. They are only one part of our application.

Agreed @gkfc They look at our applications from a holistic approach so we shouldn’t dwell on test scores. What happens will happen.

Again, did any of you guys interview? I’m curious to see how many did and if it really matters.

@NUHopeful19 Yes, I interviewed with an alumni. As much as I hope it counts for a significant piece of the application, I have heard that it unfortunately doesn’t carry much weight. But at a school like NU, I feel like it shows interest and enthusiasm. It can, though, definitely hurt but only if it goes poorly.

I’m not from USA so when I requested an interview, the admission office said there’s no available NU alumni to do an interview with me, but they will “record your enthusiasm”. So I’m guessing that interview doesn’t really matter. In fact, look at the admitted students on CC, there’s not many who’d had interviews.

@etphonehome2015 @alafae I interviewed and it went very well. I am hoping that this shows to the admissions council. I’d like to think that it carries some weight, as my interviewer said that although it’s not required, they highly recommend it.

Last year results came out December 12th. Anybody know the dates when it came out for earlier years?
