Official Notre Dame Transfer Fall 2012

I just received a letter in the mail from Notre Dame. It stated that the majority of my application was complete and that they only need a final grade report for this term before they make a decision. The letter states that decisions will be mailed between May 15th and June 30th.

Hope this helps!

I’ve always loved ND and wanted to go there but didn’t apply because I felt like I didn’t have a shot of getting into their engineering program. I’ll be attending Villanova next year and have a few questions about transferring in.

Do transfer students receive a decent amount of FA?
Does ND take FA into account when deciding whether to accept/deny a person. I know some other schools will admit people who would need less.
What GPA should I shoot for in my first year?
And do they take into account high school stats? I had 4.7 gpa and 28 act ( 32 math, 32 english.)

Thanks

Broadway Blue, I’m not sure but I have heard that sometimes transfer kids dont get as much aid. I’m also pretty sure, though, that Notre Dame does not reject you straight up because you cant afford it–they can afford to accept kids they think will enrich their campus, richer or poorer. They do take into account high school stats, but not sure how important it is. My best advice is to try to enjoy Villanova while you are there; you will have a hard time if you are constantly thinking about transferring. Just do well in school, and if you are still thinking about it in the spring, hell, apply! I’m in a position where I will be happy either way–going to Notre Dame will be great, but if I don’t get in its not the end of the world, life will go on.

I applied for transfer and I got the letter that said they had everything they needed but the final grades to make their decision a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve sent my unofficial grade report.

My question is this: On the application/website, it said that if you applied out of high school, they still have your application materials.
Does that mean they have access to reread your personal essays from back then? Because two things:

 1. Wouldn’t that give kids that previously applied a leg up?
 2. I found a grammatical error on my essay from the high school app and I think it was the reason I was waitlisted instead of accepted and I don’t want for it to count against me this time…

Any thoughts?

I got in! I got a call and I’m in and they’re sending the packet soon!

^ wow congratulations! what major/school did you apply to?

I applied as a Biology major to the College of Science. I’ve heard that the College of Science gives its applicants their decisions faster than Arts and Letters applicants.

Got acceptance letter today! I applied College of Engineering

Congrats tebowlin!

Has anybody heard from College of Arts and Letters?I applied for Econ and have been counting ever since 5.15. So tired of waiting!!!

Based on past years, Arts and Letters generally gives their decisions in mid-June, like 9-16ish range.

I’m applying for Econ as well and havent heard. Good luck caroline! Except I don’t even have final grades yet–I still need to send those in when I get them.

Hey justwondering, I’ve asked the AO and she said that sometimes the decision is made without final grades. I can’t get my final grades until July…so I guess this won’t be a big problem. Good luck!:)

Until July?!? Thats crazy why is it that late? And yea I hear admission decisions usually go out around mid-June

got into A&L!!

congrats!!!

Congratulations din0saur. I have a few questions for you if you don’t mine. When did you send in your final grades? How did they tell you? How big was the envelope?

thanks marris!
@tomjennings C4 envelope. i sent the grades 5/16. i called 5/21 and never got a response lol. the letter was dated 5/24. i got it today and i have to take a math class

Just curious to see if anyone has any new news… anxious to hear if another wave of decision letters have been released

undirish899 I got the small envelope yesterday. Apparently a 3.99 college gpa in the right courses and a 3.9 high school gpa are not good enough.
