Hahaha, this really isn’t his audience.

terryaod: I’m an international applicant (: are you?..… so nervous right now…NU’s student body is 7% international…

China here. Also curious how many others are there~

@rainingdaisies: nope, not his crowd. Seth Meyers went to Northwestern! Woot!

That he did, as did Stephen Colbert! (:

@BookishGirl, @rainingdaisies Ahhhh I know, Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers are two of my absolute favorite people, so how perfect is it that both of them went to Northwestern?

South Korean International here!

@katehepburn - a love of Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert AND a prospective RTVF major? I think we might have a lot in common :)

@NBCbyNature I bet we do! Wow, I hope we both get in! (:

@nbcbynature an NBC fan who’s a fan of Colbert and myers whos applying rtvf? Haha I guess I’m not so unique after all! I’m trying to be a writer for comedy television and do second city, I made a very successful comedy show and club at my school, I really hope you get in too! Good luck everyone!

@SamSaulsbury I also want to be a comedy writer, but I was leaning more towards Improv Olympic than Second City (haha, not to discuss the intricacies of schools of improv on this site…that’s probably better suited for another board). I already started Upright Citizens Brigade classes and IO is more similar than SC to their teaching methods. I really want to try out for Titanic Players, Mee-Ow, NSTV, etc if I get into NU (fingers crossed!).

What kind of comedy club did you start? I do improv and a bit of standup and I co-produce some talk shows at my local public access station, but I’m always too scared to start clubs like that at my school for fear that no one will be as passionate about comedy as I am!

@katehepburn, SamSaulsbury, and EVERYONE - I hope we ALL get in! You all seem like extremely nice, intelligent, down-to-earth students, and I would love to meet all of you on campus next year. Best of luck!

Haha well that’s a problem I encountered, really it was only me and another student performing standup a couple times a year. My big achievement was my show, my school ended up giving me a period to write it and write comedy bits for other people. I got the privelidge of reading my recs and they’re very comedy/intellectual centric, so I really hope I fill the right niche for them. I’ve never gotten to perform real standup cuz there aren’t any comedy clubs in my county. If we both get in, we should go do standup haha! I’m totally freaking out about this, good luck! Same to you everyone else

So i’ve been completely stalking this thread and other threads like it for NU and I’m just so excited to hear back. I can’t believe it’s going to be so soon. Good luck to everyone.
GO WILDCATS!

What are the odds tonight will be the night? Because I just CAN’T wait until tomorrow, it’s killing me.

Not very good at all. The logic behind releasing them today instead of tomorrow before the end of the term just isn’t there.

Also, I went to my counselor today and Northwestern definitely did not send out decisions. My school uses Naviance as well and of the multiple students that applied, my counselor has heard back nothing. So unless you’re lucky or lying, you’re waiting like the rest of us.

I don’t personally know if I’d call the chances of today being “low”, but definitely, tomorrow is higher. I can understand that they wanted to do this at the end of the term, but telling applicants NOTHING about release dates besides the generic “before the 15th” is rather irksome.

Dont get your hopes up for tonight…just carry on with the usual…essay writing…

Burdened I definitely agree that a little communication would be nice. All three of my EA schools emailed me telling me exactly when they’re releasing them

It’s “usually” on a Friday. So, tomorrow. But, there’s a buz at my school that it could be tonight. Does it really matter…one way or another everyone will know in 24 hrs or so.

This girl at my school who is a Schuler Scholar said that it will be tomorrow around 5pm. Who knows if that’s right, but Schuler people usually have the inside scoop on everything, so I hope she is right!
