Oh mann. Im sorry. What school did you apply too?
Im a little worried now. I thought transfers are greatly looked at the same way freshman for scholarships, grants, aid, etc??? (I think the word is need-blind). And this is across the board for all the schools, not just Tisch.
One of the main reasons I am leaving my current school is because of the hefty tuition (my school has an awful endowment)…and without any sort of aid the cost of Tisch is wayyyyyyyyy more than I am paying now.

Would anyone mind explaining how financial aid works for transfers if they know? I would ever so greatly appreciate it :)

Just curious if the email they send out to applicants requesting mid term report is a standard or are there variations?

(Below is the request I got today for my midterm report)

Hello,

Upon initial review of your transfer application to the Stern School of Business, I am requesting that you have a midterm report form filled out by your professors and emailed back to me by 5pm on Monday, May 13.

In case anyone is interested, I was accepted to CAS for this fall with a 3.7 and a B on my midterm (signed in February), so they may be more interested in making sure there are no D’s or C’s more than wanting to see all A+'s.

I’m a CAS applicant and I was asked for my mid-term report about 3-4 weeks ago. I thought it was a good sign at first but now since I still haven’t gotten a decision while other CAS applicants have already been accepted, I’m starting to worry.

Exactly the same, CAS and asked for mid-term. I really don’t know if it means something…
Well it’s Thursday, more people will get their decisions today…

stats:
admitted to: NYU CAS for neural sciences
admitted from: UMass Amhest, biology
hs gpa: 3.65 (however, it’s a Russian high school, a really rigorous lyceum)
college gpa: 3.92 as of fall semester + honors program + straight A on midterm
sat: 1860 (i mean, yes, this is bad, but i’m an international student and i took it in 10th grade)
classes: bio, calc, psych, honors chemistry, also took a 300-level neuroscience course
ecs: not much, a couple of clubs (bio club, neuro club) and a research assistant job in a psych lab
recs: 1 regular one from my bio professor (there were 300+ students in the class so it’s pretty generic i assume), 1 probably amazing one from my chem honors prof (small class, i went to office hours a lot and generally just showed interest)
hooks: dunno, being russian, working in a lab, essays (i worked really hard on them)? - not like any of this is super-unique, so idk. it’s probably b/c of money too, internationals don’t get finaid and i’ll pay a ton

so yeah, i’m thrilled (been dreaming about living in nyc since I was probably 10 y.o), and I still can’t fully believe this

Accepted to Tisch for Dramatic Writing!!! ahh… I can not even believe it. I am studying for my econ final and totally can no longer concentrate.

I was admitted to CAS for Economics. I’m torn between going or not. I am currently a dual degree student at Boston University (Rising Junior) and will graduate with a degree in Business Management from BU SMG and a degree in Economics from BU CAS. At NYU, I would only graduate with an Econ degree. Would transferring be worth it? I really like BU, but my parents would prefer I transfer to NYU.
